We’re all over this one. The value in the line far eclipses our slight hesitations about launching an aggressive progression here.

Hammel is far from a dominant pitcher, but he’s been incredibly profitable this season. He’s 7-4, with a terrible 5.09 ERA, despite my opinion that he’s a solid pitcher with good stuff. He’s produced nearly 900 dollars of profit in a flat betting system, though, and his Orioles have lost his last two starts by just one run. I think he bounces back.

The Orioles are on the road, but against the White Sox, does that really matter? I think they’re the far better team.

Not a lot of options today. I have two very low confidence system plays in my forum, and this is not one of them. Still, it seems like a nice Z-Code play with a low confidence signal. Z-Code is on the Rangers, but let me point out some conflicting parameters that led me to stay away. I may throw a small bet on this at game time if line reversals are on our side, but right now I’m off this one.

I don’t understand the line on this one. The Giants have a pitching edge and are clearly the better team in this intra-Californian rivalry. -115 sounds like a steal, and I’m not one to pass up the opportunity to open a progression on a line like this.

Yes, it’s true that the Giants have lost two in a row, but are the Padres really playing any better? They’ve lost five of their last six, outscored by sixteen runs over that span including three losses to the Giants.

Doubleheader AB Progression:

Normally I’d say you don’t want to mess with all these external variables. As we saw with the Boston Bruins, you don’t know how a team rebounds when their city is attacked. This is a huge couple games for the Sox.

The Boston Red Sox are on fire… I love the opportunity for a low confidence AB progression here. I’m held back by the idea of the Red Sox having to deal with terrorist variables and emotions, and I don’t like the pitching matchup in Game Two.

Let me start by saying I love Justin Masterson. I want him to succeed because I hate the Red Sox. I think he has great potential and could be a dominant presence at the top of this rotation by the end of the year.

I also don’t like the Blue Jays this year. Buying talent doesn’t work (says this Yankees fan) and I think it will take some time for this roster to gel. Ask the Angels last year, or the Red Sox for 86 years, or the Phillies last year,  ...

AL East:

New York Yankees:  Okay, this is my homer pick of the season, but we always say the Red Sox, or this year the Blue Jays, are going to catch the Yankees.  This is a playoff team, injuries and all, and I think they’ll win the division while the Blue Jays reassemble a bunch of losing players. Toronto Blue Jays:  The Blue Jays reassembled a bunch of losing players from other teams, and suddenly everyone has them as the favorite to win this division.  I think they finish just behind the Yankees, held back by their pitching and lack of chemistry. Tampa Bay Rays:  Great coaching, good pitching, and a decent core group of players will have the Rays in contention.  With the new 5th wild card spot, they have a chance to compete after Texas lost some of their best players out west. Baltimore Orioles:  Good coaching again will keep the Orioles in it, but last  ...
