MLB Picks and Predictions: Cincinnati Reds at Texas Rangers
Not a lot of options today. I have two very low confidence system plays in my forum, and this is not one of them. Still, it seems like a nice Z-Code play with a low confidence signal. Z-Code is on the Rangers, but let me point out some conflicting parameters that led me to stay away. I may throw a small bet on this at game time if line reversals are on our side, but right now I’m off this one.
My system breaks this one down in the following way:
Texas is the better team
Texas is home and has line value
Texas has a slight pitching edge on paper
Z-Code support is a weak signal to the Rangers
Neither team has a momentum edge
— here are my hesitations
Pitcher oscillator shows profitability edge to Latos, who is a solid pitcher this year. For all his success, Darvish has only netted 78 dollars in a flat betting support system. Latos, on the other hand, is up nearly 600!
Despite losing three of four, the Reds rank right behind the Rangers in power ranking, and don’t concede much in the power rankings system analysis. That points to a close game.
I don’t want to chase -150 or more based on Z-Code 3 stars or less. For me, this weak signal shows hesitation from the computer that mirrors my own thoughts.
I think the Rangers could hit Latos
I think the Rangers are the better team
I think Darvish is a proven ace.
But I don’t see a point. Z-Code does, and we’re both on the under. My play here, for fun, since totals don’t fit my system, will be under and Rangers ML, both flat bet, hoping to possibly hit both. If the Rangers lose, I expect it to be close and low scoring, and I’m looking at a push if they can’t pull it together. I don’t see the Reds winning a slugfest.
