World Series Predictions: Game One Tigers Vs Giants Pick

The Giants have all the momentum in the world. For the second time this postseason, they came back from the dead to steal a series. Down 2-0, they knocked off the Reds in five games. Down 3-1, they came back to stun the St. Louis Cardinals – the defending champions. Home for Game One after winning in San Francisco for the final two games of the NLCS, momentum is on the side of the San Francisco Giants.

Pitching is on the side of the Tigers in Game One. Comparing Barry Zito and Justin Verlander almost isn’t fair. Though Zito has been effective this postseason, Verlander has been unbelievable. He seems unbeatable, which is usually a good sign to avoid an underdog value bet.

The Tigers quickly dismantled the Yankees in the ALCS and have been off for almost a week. They’ll be rested, but they could be rusty. Burning hot World Series teams that sweep the LCS round of the playoffs can struggle in the World Series. Still, Justin Verlander is the great equalizer here.

Verlander is 3-0 with an ERA under one in his last three starts. He is dominating the postseason and I simply refuse to bet against him. In fact, I’ll be on this one for the moneyline, expecting Verlander to stay hot.
