MLB Picks: Texas Rangers vs LA Angels

MLB Picks: Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels

Well, I don’t personally have any plays today but for fun and for something to drink to, I’m on the Rangers and the over in this one with the computer.

I wouldn’t have personally picked the over in this game as both pitchers are having a great season. That said, public money is pouring in on the Angels despite relatively sharp odds and Vegas must know something we don’t. I think they’re pushing the action and I expect the Rangers to give LA a game here. I think the only ...

MLB Picks Contest ($100 Prize): Brewers Dbacks, July 26th

MLB Picks Contest ($100 Prize): Milwaukee Brewers at Arizona Diamondbacks

Sunday, July 26th: Garza Vs Hellickson

I like to say “Two Bad Teams No Bet” on our VIP Club wall because for me there is always too much volatility in these games. Bad offenses go silent, bad pitchers give up runs, bad defenses make untimely errors, bad bullpens squander leads, bad coaches make mistakes. When it comes to games like this, I usually like to just stay far, far away.

Instead, I’m going to make this one the focus of our MLB Picks Contest. As always, simply comment on this post to participate.

Here are our standings so far:

Four Wins ...

MLB Picks: Tampa Bay Rays at Philadelphia Phillies AB Doubler

After a disappointing first game from the Tampa Bay Rays, the red hot Phillies are on a four-game winning streak to open the second half of the season. I still don’t trust the Philadelphia Phillies to do anything but lose, but now we’ve got to temper our expectations. The Rays don’t hit.

I like a progression here because I think the Tampa Bay Rays are simply the better team. They’ve got much better pitching than the Phillies and once again hold a slight edge in this one. On the road, ...

MLB Predictions: First Half Baseball Recap

We ended the first half on a small slide but are still up six units as we finish off the All Star Break. We’ve rode our traditional favorites to some pretty good results, and we’ve also been able to adjust as the markets shifted to keep winning. In the end, we were right about a lot of teams and wrong about some others, but we had a profitable start to another season. We almost got the entire NL right.

AL East

– We were right about the cluster of mediocrity in this division, but we were very wrong about the Boston Red Sox. I didn’t think they had the pitching to be consistent, but I did think they’d be better. And hey, look at my New York Yankees…

What we predicted:

1. Baltimore Orioles ...

ZCODE MLB CASH CHAMPIONSHIP – ROUND 11 RECAP

Oh boy! This is funny scenario, I’ve never seen it before! Contest leader is waiting like a like hibernating bear while players behind him are rolling on a maximal risk. We have a lot reshuffle in the rank, but ironically contenders are still too short to shoot off Australian Bear. Do bears live in Australia at all? This analogy could be quite stupid 😉 . Anyway three guys behind the leader have him in one bet range and most probably contest winner is among Dundee(dave_loader), Brian K.(brianekay), Duane(dpa2711), Bernard(b.bily5399), but many hours is ...

MLB All-Star Game 2015: AL Defeats NL, Wins World Series Edge

MLB All Star Game: American League Vs National League

When you look up and down both lineups, the American League has the clear advantage for me. They’ve got some depth, they’ve got some power, they’ve got a good amount of speed, and they have more intimidating power hitters for sure. The National League lineup just doesn’t do much for me here, but then again, they have the pitching edge.

The National League has seen some dominant starters this year, but I have to give the edge to Zack Greinke over Dallas Keuchel, and the edge remains as you get into the game. I think pitching will keep the NL in this one, but I don’t think they have enough offensive weapons to walk away with the win.

I’m not a big fan of the “this year matters” All Star Game approach, but I guess it makes things a little more interesting. I look at the AL lineup as one that can ...

MLB Picks Contest ($100 Prize): New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox

MLB Picks Contest: New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox

Nathan Eovaldi vs Wade Miley, Sunday July 12. This is my favorite rivalry in sports as a lifelong New York Yankees fan. I love that the Boston Red Sox are struggling this year and bringing up the rear of such a highly mediocre division. I love that the Yankees have found a way to have some relative success despite injuries and mediocrity throughout the roster. It’s been quite a year.

So, in a battle of two very average teams in the midst of two very interesting seasons, who ya got? ...

MLB Picks Contest: Standings Update, Twins Reds

MLB Picks Contest: Standings Update, Minnesota Twins over Cincinnati Reds

I’ll be honest – I’m a little disappointed in the low participation. We do this because it’s fun, but we also like when the numbers are big and we can build participation in the page. The MLB Picks contest is still in its early stages and our five-way tie at three wins is in no way insurmountable. Please help spread the word so we can keep this going – the winner gets 100 bucks and it’s free to participate. Let’s keep this going! Follow along on our Facebook page to join in!

That said, here are our standings after the Minnesota Twins took out the Cincinnati Reds last week:

MLB Picks: Cincinnati Reds at Washington Nationals, ABC

MLB Picks: Cincinnati Reds at Washington Nationals

The line here absolutely looks like a trap. Doug Fister is off to a slow start. The Nats aren’t hitting right now. But are we seriously to believe that in an ABC progression at home, starting at 1.8 odds, the Washington Nationals won’t turn a profit against the lowly Cincinnati Reds? I’m all over this one.

The Washington Nationals have been a pretty reliable feature in our ABC betting systems this season. When we pick our spots, the consistency of the Nats throughout the lineup combines with one of the best ...

ZCODE MLB CASH CHAMPIONSHIP – ROUND 9 RECAP

Dundee is great, but Bernard is greater… at least for now! New contest leader arrived, but differences between top 3 players are tiny! Guys behind them are also not so far behind and pushing hard! Best time of every competition is just in front of us. It will be fantastic, dramatic and spectacular finish for sure! Three more rounds, one stage and we will get all answers!

Round 9 ends third stage in the contest so third time players get points awards. We have a lot of different ranks this time so check ...

MLB Picks: New York Yankees at LA Angels

I like this one because it’s such an interesting matchup here. The New York Yankees have been one of the streakiest teams in baseball, particularly since the loss of Jacoby Ellsbury. The Los Angeles Angels have been a picture of mediocrity this season, but consistently mediocre and you have to appreciate them for that as they float around .500 for the year.

This pitching matchup is interesting. An expensive relic of Yankees past waddles out onto the mound with his 5+ ERA to face CJ Wilson, a former top-tier pitcher who is ...

MLB Picks: LA Dodgers at Miami Marlins

It’s a tough line, but I think if you’re going to invest in a heavy favorite on the road you better have Zack Greinke on the mound. This play really comes down to whether the Miami Marlins can hit one of the best pitchers in the league and the LA Dodgers’ true ace this season so far.

Quite frankly, with Stanton injured, I just don’t see how Miami can keep up. There’s a stud on the mound and the vastly superior team is looking to rebound. Most teams don’t take out ...

MLB Picks: Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres

This is not exactly a forum pick for me, but it’s a lean. I see some serious value in the line at home for the San Diego Padres, and I think the slumping Arizona Diamondbacks have their work cut out for them. That said, with a weak signal from the computer (if any) and an unreliable pitcher on the mound for the home team, I think we should temper our expectations here. I officially don’t have any plays today, but if you’re looking for some action or just need a ...

MLB Picks Contest: Minnesota Twins at Cincinnati Reds

Tuesday, June 30th: Hughes v DeSclafani

Well, after Johnny Cueto’s start was pushed back for no reason, most of you got a pretty easy win from the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cincinnati Reds never really stood a chance, and it was one of the biggest progression bets of the season for my forum. It ended up being a whacky game, so I figure we should give the Reds another chance.

The Minnesota Twins are another terrible team, and on the road they’re a tough team to trust. They definitely have a pitching edge here with Phil Hughes, but the Cincinnati Reds have home field advantage and I don’t think either team is really worth supporting. So, in a game that will never fit my forum because bad teams breed volatility, who do you have? As always, simply comment on this post to participate.

Here are our standings so far:
