AFC Playoffs Predictions, 2015: Denver Broncos vs New England Patriots, Manning Brady

2015 NFL Playoffs Predictions AFC: Patriots Broncos, Manning Brady

I may be rooting for a Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady rematch. It’s pretty much my favorite thing about the AFC. The New England Patriots are a symbol of consistency and losing to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl, while the Denver Broncos have reloaded in the past couple years. The first round is full of exciting match ups, including one of the best rivalries in football between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.

6. Baltimore Ravens OVER 3. Pittsburgh Steelers

It’s hard to cast off a championship pedigree like that of the Ravens, but this is a completely different team. The defense is younger and not nearly as dominant and Joe Flacco doesn’t have any weapons on the outside. The Steelers have been one of the best teams at home this year. Big Ben has been great at home… but with Le’Veon Bell I don’t see how Pittsburgh  ...

2015 NFL Playoffs Predictions: Seattle Seahawks our NFC Championship Pick

NFL Playoffs Predictions: Seattle Seahawks Will Coast to NFC Championship

The Seattle Seahawks have a fairly easy road to the conference championship, and once there I don’t see any real threats to the throne. The Dallas Cowboys have had an excellent season and beat Seattle in Seattle, but they have to get through the Lions and Packers first. Green Bay played scared against the Seahawks. Maybe assuming the Seahawks run right into the final is in poor taste, but will the Cardinals really find a way to win without their quarterback? In fact, I’ve got the Carolina Panthers winning in the first round with a losing regular season record. Let’s get into our NFC picks for this edition of our 2015 NFL Playoffs Predictions.

Wild Card Round

3. Dallas Cowboys OVER 6. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions will have Ndomukong Suh back after he won his suspension appeal, but I think that will just light a fire under the best offensive  ...

NFL Picks: NFC Central Division Title Game – Packers vs Lions

NFL Picks: Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers, NFC Central Title GameThis is the time of year where Aaron Rodgers’ eyes get big and he starts picking apart defenses. While Eddie Lacy isn’t exactly running the ball effectively, the Packers are an impressive bunch with some semblance of balance on offense. That said, Detroit’s defense is gritty (read cheap), rushes the passer, and can shut down even the best offenses in the league. This should be a good one.

I think Lambeau will likely be a decisive advantage here. It’s going to be cold, the Lions don’t run the ball  ...

NFL Picks: Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals, Monday Night Football

NFL Picks: Monday Night Football – Denver Broncos (-3) at Cincinnati BengalsWe got in early and saved ourselves half a point here, but got in early on the Steelers and cost ourselves a half point. Everything balanced out and, either way, my system in the VIP Picks forum is 1-0 coming into Monday Night, and we can’t lose money but we can almost double up here.

The Bengals have a lot to play for, but they’re a volatile bunch. I don’t trust them, and inconsistencies at quarterback and sloppy play has made them a borderline playoff team instead of the runaway  ...

NFL Picks: Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers

NFL Picks: Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5)I’m a little nervous about the line movement here. 82% of the public money is coming in on the Steelers, but Vegas took this down from 3 to 2.5. That suggests a trap where smart money is coming in on the Chiefs. Dangerous game.

That said, the Steelers are one of the hottest teams in football down the stretch, particularly at home. They can run the ball just as effectively as the Chiefs, and the difference here is Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers have the much better passing attack, and in Pittsburgh I don’t  ...

Thanksgiving NFL Picks: Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions

NFL Picks: Thanksgiving Day Game – Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions This is a funny game for a number of reasons – it’s a rivalry game with a big point spread on a national stage, for one. More importantly, it’s arguably the best pass rush in football against arguably the worst offensive line in football with arguably one of the panickiest quarterbacks in football. That’s a recipe for disaster.

Seven might be too many, I agree, and the line is a little sharp. That said, how do you trust Jay Cutler here? He’s going to take a beating, and ultimately,  ...

NFL Picks, Thursday Night Football: Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins

NFL Picks, Thursday Night Football: Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins

This is a fun one. Both teams are 5-4, squarely in the wild card race, and not prohibitively behind the Pats atop the AFC East. Realistically, though, falling to .500 would make things difficult in the playoff race, falling behind the entirety of the NFC North, among others.

The Buffalo Bills had a nice tandem at running back before both Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller went down. Jackson may be back in the fold, but I’m not sure how useful he will be with a lingering groin issue.  ...

NFL Picks Week Ten: Saints Niners, Falcons Bucs

NFL Picks Week Ten, Double Pick: New Orleans Saints vs San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFL Picks Week Ten: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This line opened up at -1 and we jumped in. Again, by being early this week, my forum saved us some points for the VIP Club community, but we’ll analyze this one both ways. I just don’t see how the Atlanta Falcons can be this bad, and I still don’t believe in the Bucs.

I think it is a tremendous mistake to go back to Josh McCown over future franchise quarterbacks, even if they’re as mediocre as Mike Glennon. This is a lifetime backup who had one decent season in Chicago with some of the best weapons in football. On a team as weak as Tampa, I don’t see him having success. I also question breaking up the connection that Glennon was establishing with a now-healthy Mike Evans. Either way,  ...
