NFL Picks Week Ten: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This line opened up at -1 and we jumped in. Again, by being early this week, my forum saved us some points for the VIP Club community, but we’ll analyze this one both ways. I just don’t see how the Atlanta Falcons can be this bad, and I still don’t believe in the Bucs.

I think it is a tremendous mistake to go back to Josh McCown over future franchise quarterbacks, even if they’re as mediocre as Mike Glennon. This is a lifetime backup who had one decent season in Chicago with some of the best weapons in football. On a team as weak as Tampa, I don’t see him having success. I also question breaking up the connection that Glennon was establishing with a now-healthy Mike Evans. Either way, I expect some rust from a weak quarterback and even against the lowly Atlanta Falcons defense, I think he might struggle.

More than that, how can the Bucs stop this offense? The Falcons are fighting for their lives just two games back for the divisional lead despite their six early losses. Balanced with a decent running platoon and strong receiving corps, I think they’ll pick Tampa apart.

I think the field goal is worth it here, even though I personally have this one at -1. The money line looks pretty reasonable at -150 too. Z-Code agrees, but has some hesitation backing a 2-6 team on the road. That makes sense, but I think we can come in here despite the limited support of the computer algorithm.

Falcons 30 – Bucs 17

NFL Picks Week 10: San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints

I almost made this our contest game, but thought you guys might be getting bored with all these trap lines. The New Orleans Saints opened around four points, and we jumped on it by buying it down to three. The Saints are healthy with Jimmy Graham and Mark Ingram both back in the fold, home, and unbeatable in the Dome with a full squad.

Beyond that, I just don’t think the 49ers are all that good. There’s too much chaos in this locker room – too much talk of hiring a great coach with a winning track record for there not to be some serious problems in this organization. At some point it makes it to the field. QB play has been mediocre, the defense hasn’t been as strong as years past.

The Saints are clicking, and again, don’t bet against these guys in the Dome.

I’m on the money line and our -3 bet from earlier in the week.

Saints 31 – 49ers 24
