This is a funny game for a number of reasons – it’s a rivalry game with a big point spread on a national stage, for one. More importantly, it’s arguably the best pass rush in football against arguably the worst offensive line in football with arguably one of the panickiest quarterbacks in football. That’s a recipe for disaster.

Seven might be too many, I agree, and the line is a little sharp. That said, how do you trust Jay Cutler here? He’s going to take a beating, and ultimately, he’s going to crack under pressure.

The computer gives a conflicted output, which is fairly common for big spreads like this. The Lions are -300 favorites with a 69% chance of victory. When you lay that kind of money, you’d like the algorithm to say 75% or higher, which is the reason for the conflict in the signal. Realistically, the computer is suggesting to bet the Bears though it think the Lions will win.

I think when this defense gets after Cutler, and this slumping offense feasts on Turkey Day, you’ll see enough of a margin for the Lions to be comfortable all game. I like them to win big here at home and cover the spread.
