NFL Preseason Playoff Predictions: Packers, Seahawks, Cowboys

NFL Preseason Predictions: Complete NFC Playoffs Predictions

For me, the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks will be battling it out for the top seed in the NFC playoffs. I think the Green Bay Packers have a shot to take it all because their division is so weak and the Seahawks will have to battle such talented teams in the west. I think the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are playoff teams, but they start the next tier of competition in the conference. I like the Atlanta Falcons to control a horrible NFC South, and my wild card teams are the Eagles and Cardinals.

1. Seattle Seahawks (14-2): As I’ve said in earlier editions of our preseason predictions, the best team in football got better. If not for a horrible play call, the Seahawks would be a two-time defending champ coming into this year with expectations for a third championship. I think they take the top seed this year.

NFC South Preseason Division Predictions 2015: Atlanta Falcons

NFC South Preseason Predictions: Atlanta Falcons Win Mediocre Division By Default I don’t know what to say about this division because everyone is just so terrible. This isn’t even fun to write. I feel like I can barely name the teams in this division and I live in New Orleans. I think the Atlanta Falcons, by default, are going to win the division because the New Orleans Saints imploded, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t ready to be competitive, and the Carolina Panthers are too inconsistent. There, that wasn’t so hard.

1. Atlanta Falcons (10-6): The offense is really exciting. There is a good young rotation of running backs, the wide receivers are exciting, Matt Ryan is reliable, and the connection between Ryan and Jones is among the best in the league. That said, there will be growing pains here with the new coaching staff and the defense is pretty abysmal every year. I think they’ll win the division and be competitive,  ...

NFC West Preseason Predictions: Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals

NFC West Preseason Predictions: Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals While I expect this division to cannibalize itself a little bit, I don’t think anyone is as good as the Seattle Seahawks this year. The Seahawks should have won the Super Bowl, but elected, from the shotgun, not to run the ball with the best goal line back in football. In response, they’ve added a bunch of pieces and gotten a lot better, and I don’t think anyone will compete until the salary cap destroys them.

1. Seattle Seahawks (14-2): It’s hard to be completely unstoppable from the west coast because of how far you have to travel for a lot of those road games. That said, it’s hard to be stopped when you add one of the best offensive weapons in football to the best rushing offense in the game. I choose not to forgive them for their Super Bowl mishap that cost me money, but to pick anyone ahead of  ...

NFC North Picks, 2015 Preseason Predictions: Green Bay Packers

NFL Preseason Predictions, NFC North: Green Bay Packers Obvious Favorites

I’m really not a Green Bay Packers fan. I don’t really like teams that don’t play defense, I’m not a fan of Eddie Lacy, and I don’t particularly like the way things ended with Brett Favre. That said, there’s really no other options in the NFC North this year.

I really like to pick the underdog. There’s something about embracing the little guy that brings me such joy. That’s why this division is so boring for me, because year after year we pick the Green Bay Packers in the Aaron Rodgers era and we’re usually right.

1. Green Bay Packers (13-3): Aaron Rodgers is probably the most exciting quarterback in football with probably the dumbest touchdown celebration in football. That said, there’s simply too many weapons in Green Bay and this division is too weak. By default, I’m expecting big things from the Green Bay Packers this year.

2. Detroit Lions  ...

NFL Predictions – 2015 NFC East Preseason Picks: Cowboys, Eagles

2015 NFL Preseason Predictions: Can Dallas Cowboys Win NFC East?

Seriously, the division comes down to whether or not the Dallas Cowboys actually need a running back to win games. The Philadelphia Eagles return the same mad scientist nonsense, the New York Giants return basically the same roster, and the Washington Redskins are completely dysfunctional.

1. Dallas Cowboys (11-5): The amazing Dallas Cowboys offensive line protects Tony Romo, both by facilitating the run and insulating the Cowboys from the terrible play calling of Jason Garrett. It also helps control the clock and keep the defense fresh. The question is whether they can win without a stud running back. For now, I say that they can.

2. Philadelphia Eagles (10-6): I don’t really understand the quarterback carousel in Philly, but as long as Tim Tebow has a roster spot I’m a Chip Kelly fan. I like that they picked up DeMarco Murray as all hope seemed lost, and they look like  ...

NFL Preseason Predictions: 2015 AFC West Picks, Denver Broncos

2015 AFC West Predictions: Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs

It’s not exactly going out on a limb to predict the exact same results as last year, but that’s what I’ll be doing in this division. The Denver Broncos continue to be the class of a highly mediocre division, while the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers battle to remain relevant. The Oakland Raiders are still the Oakland Raiders.

1. Denver Broncos (12-4): They’ve taken a step back and Peyton Manning has gotten a year older, but I still think they have plenty of weapons and will continue to win at the same clip as last year. I’d like to see Manning get another Super Bowl, but his time in the spotlight is coming to an end.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (9-7): The Chiefs are an interesting team. They can run the ball, they’ve got a good defense, but they don’t really have the passing attack necessary to win in  ...

NFL Preseason Predictions, AFC South: Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans

AFC South Preseason Picks: Indianapolis Colts over Houston Texans, Jags, Titans This division is about as boring as they come.  It’s hard to get excited about anyone in the AFC South and has been for a while.  The Indianapolis Colts are never flashy, the Houston Texans never live up to expectations, the Tennessee Titans are a decade removed from being relevant, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are hilarious.

1. Indianapolis Colts (13-3):  With no one to really challenge them atop this division, the Indianapolis Colts are going to cruise.  What’s more, they’ve gotten better.  Andrew Luck is another year in, they brought in another huge receiving weapon, they have a proven veteran running back, and a heck of a coach.   Yawn.   Let’s move on.

2. Houston Texans (9-7):  I wish I could trust this team, but without a quarterback they simply have too many unknowns.  I like this defense, I think they’ll run the ball well again, but with  ...

NFL Preseason Predictions, 2015 AFC East Picks: Patriots, Bills

AFC East 2015 Preseason Predictions: New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills Few things are as certain season to season as the AFC East. This year, even with all the shaking up of the rosters, even with Tom Brady out for a well-deserved, four-game suspension, and even with the Buffalo Bills making all kind of moves, I still can’t bring myself to bet against the Pats.

1. New England Patriots (10-6): So, even if they come out “flat” you can sprinkle in a few losses with Tom Brady on the bench and maybe a little bit of adjustment once he comes back in, and I still think the New England Patriots are the best team in the AFC East this year. The Jets still don’t have a quarterback, the Bills are learning to win, and the Patriots will win the division – even if they don’t cruise to the title like in years past.

2. Buffalo Bills (9 – 7): I like the  ...

2015 NFL Preseason Predictions, AFC North: Steelers, Bengals, Ravens

2015 AFC North Preseason Predictions: Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals

With the Pittsburgh Steelers opening the 2015 NFL Preseason with a loss in the Hall of Fame Game to the Minnesota Vikings, and the Baltimore Ravens kicking off Week One of the NFL Preseason next week against the New Olreans Saints, this division was the obvious place to start our 2015 Preseason Predictions. The AFC North is a tight division, riddled with mediocrity. This one won‘t be easy.

1. Cincinnati Bengals (10-6): I don’t trust Andy Dalton and don’t expect the Bengals to ever deliver in a big  ...
