NFC North Picks, 2015 Preseason Predictions: Green Bay Packers

NFL Preseason Predictions, NFC North: Green Bay Packers Obvious Favorites

I’m really not a Green Bay Packers fan. I don’t really like teams that don’t play defense, I’m not a fan of Eddie Lacy, and I don’t particularly like the way things ended with Brett Favre. That said, there’s really no other options in the NFC North this year.

I really like to pick the underdog. There’s something about embracing the little guy that brings me such joy. That’s why this division is so boring for me, because year after year we pick the Green Bay Packers in the Aaron Rodgers era and we’re usually right.

1. Green Bay Packers (13-3): Aaron Rodgers is probably the most exciting quarterback in football with probably the dumbest touchdown celebration in football. That said, there’s simply too many weapons in Green Bay and this division is too weak. By default, I’m expecting big things from the Green Bay Packers this year.

2. Detroit Lions (8-8): I love me some Calvin Johnson, but the Lions are a dysfunctional bunch of losers that I don’t see finding much success this year. The defense got worse, the offense is still imbalanced, and I don’t trust their jump ball style of play.

3. Chicago Bears (7-9): Jay Cutler has never had a chance in a bad offense with no line, and the wide receivers no longer have Brandon Marshall for the jump ball touchdown. I don’t think Jay Cutler is a bad guy, but nobody likes him and the Bears suck.

4. Minnesota Vikings (6-10): I hate the Vikings for how they handled the Adrian Peterson situation, and though I expect him to come back in a big way this year, I don’t think they have enough around him to really compete. I expect another year in the basement from Minnesota, but the bottom three in this division are essentially interchangeable for me.
