NHL Playoffs Picks: Caps Flyers Game Six

NHL Picks: Washington Capitals vs Philadelphia Flyers Game 6 The Philadelphia Flyers changed goalies, and it has given them a bit of a boost. The Flyers still aren’t scoring, but they’ve started to shut down the best offense in the conference. Here, however, after two big wins, I expect the Flyers to fall to the Washington Capitals at last. We continue our progression wager here, and we bet Washington to cover the last two losses.

It’s so difficult to beat the same team three and four times in a row. It is especially difficult when that team is the best  ...

NHL Playoffs Picks: Washington Capitals vs Philadelphia Flyers

NHL Playoffs Picks: Washington Capitals vs Philadelphia Flyers I think the Philadelphia Flyers have completely imploded. It’s fun watching people try to defend these fans, but they are irrational and violent. Philly is a great city and a fun sports town, but Philadelphia fans are the absolute worst. Whether it’s the Eagles or the Flyers, the people are just ridiculous. As such, isn’t it fun to watch the best team in the East, the Washington Capitals, beat the snot out of them every night? I mean if you can’t have enough dignity when honoring your dead owner to not throw things  ...

NHL Playoffs Picks: LA Kings at San Jose Sharks Game Three

NHL Playoffs Picks: LA Kings at San Jose Sharks

I think the LA Kings are the better team here, and I think that they have enough defense and goaltending to turn this series around on the road. The LA Kings lost two tough games at home, and as the series shifts to San Jose, the desperation will be high. They should be able to finally get things going.

The San Jose Sharks have surprised me in the beginning of this series. They look sharp and have the ability to score clutch goals and muscle out wins. The defensive system of the  ...

NHL Playoffs Picks: Chicago Blackhawks at St. Louis Blues

NHL Playoffs Picks: Chicago Blackhawks vs St. Louis Blues I know the Chicago Blackhawks are always a trendy pick, what with their Stanley Cups and their playoff consistency, but this pick is more about the St. Louis Blues’ struggles than Chicago’s triumphs. The Blues just do not know how to win in the NHL playoffs.

I like the St. Louis Blues. I enjoy teams built in defense and goaltending, it reminds me of my own Devils. Still, the offensive shortcomings of a goalie-dominated league have led to the St. Louis Blues not being able to get over the hump. When  ...

2016 NHL Playoffs Predictions: Caps Ducks Stanley Cup

2016 NHL Playoffs Predictions: Anaheim Ducks vs Washington Capitals Stanley Cup The Anaheim Ducks had one of the worst starts I can remember for an elite team. We lost some money early in the year, as I had them picked to dominate the West. That said, we got off them quick, they sorted things out, and they somehow won the division. With that kind of momentum, I like the Anaheim Ducks to win the Stanley Cup this year. I just don’t trust an Alexander Ovechkin Washington Capitals team. Here are the rest of our 2016 NHL Playoffs Predictions:

First Round  ...

NHL Picks: New York Islanders at Carolina Hurricanes

NHL Picks: New York Islanders at Carolina Hurricanes The Eastern Conference Wild Card race is getting pretty intense. Following a win by my New Jersey Devils, there is a tie for the final Wild Card spot at 63 points, and the Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers, and Montreal Canadiens would all be out at 58 points. Just a point ahead of the final Wild Card spot, the New York Islanders are third in the Metropolitan at 64 points. This NHL Playoffs race is going to be intense.

A win here for the Carolina Hurricanes would bring them closer to the New  ...

NHL Playoffs Picks: Game Seven Anaheim Ducks vs Chicago Blackhawks

NHL Playoffs Picks: Anaheim Ducks vs Chicago Blackhawks

The Anaheim Ducks collapsed in epic fashion and the Chicago Blackhawks dominated Game Six. That said, Anaheim has looked great at home and we’ve squeezed a lot of value out of the -110 initial series line here. We’re on the Anaheim Ducks, and at home they’ve got a nice edge.

The Z-Code computer shows some minor conflict in the algorithm and a weak signal in terms of value, but they like the Anaheim Ducks 61% signal and three stars of value. Given that we have them loaded up at -110 we won’t  ...

NHL Playoffs Picks: Lightning Rangers, Game Seven Eastern Conference Finals

NHL Playoffs Picks: Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Rangers, Game Seven – Eastern Conference Finals How do you come up flat on home ice in an elimination game to get to the Stanley Cup Final? What is wrong with the Tampa Bay Lightning that they can light the world on fire one night and utterly collapse the next. Because of this volatility, I am not going to bet on this game. I think the New York Rangers are tired from the physical grind of last series, but they’ve got theedge here and can seal another trip to the Stanley  ...

NHL Playoffs Picks: Anaheim Ducks vs Chicago Blackhawks, Game 5

NHL Playoffs Picks: Chicago Blackhawks at Anaheim Ducks This series is pretty much going to plan. The Anaheim Ducks anD Chicago Blackhawks continue to battle. The experience of the Blackhawks has been on display as they find ways to win overtime games. The explosiveness of the Anaheim Ducks has come to light throughout the series. This is a doozy.

What we thought would be the key to this series was the physicality and size of the Anaheim Ducks and whether they could wear down Chicago to win the series. We also noted that Crawford had returned to form and Anaheim  ...

NHL Playoffs Picks: Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Rangers Game Five

NHL Playoffs Picks: Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Rangers Is there a more inconsistent team in the NHL Playoffs than the Tampa Bay Lightning? One night they blow you away, the next they’re not even close to competitive with the same team. It’s really been interesting to watch and difficult to bet. The Bolts have looked great for stretches here, but the New York Rangers are a great team and Tampa will need to sort things out quickly now.

I still believe that Ben Bishop is able to go toe to toe with Henrik Lundqvist. I look to the  ...
