I was a bit hesitant to feature this game. Z-Code is on the Knicks and we all know how unsuccessful I’ve been challenging the mighty computer. Still, I’m on the Nets and so are my expert colleagues. The JPM system is on the Nets +6, Damon is on Nets +6 (a great basketball mind in the VIP club), Victor expects a close game. With this much community support, and the value I already saw on the Nets, I have to press this one.

NBA Featured Game and Free $100 Facebook Contest Game: Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls

With a spread of less than two points, it looks like we picked a great one for our Facebook competition. No screen shot today (new computer, no software for it just yet), but I’ll explain everything you need to know in text. Voters seem to favor the Bulls, but I’m on the Boston Celtics.

The Chicago Bulls are

 home, but they’re in the second game of a back to back and their offense struggled when healthy. Given the defensive nature of the Boston Celtics and their fantastic coaching and leadership, I do not see the Bulls finding a way to suddenly score against Boston. I trust Boston to contain Chicago’s mediocre scorers, and I expect Boston to play with more energy than a tired Bulls team.

The Boston Celtics have been pretty consistent lately, while the Bulls have started winning again.  Both teams are strong defensively.  The Celtics are led by fantastic coaching and depth with veteran leadership.  The Bulls are led by defense, with some solid depth as well.  Still, the Bulls are struggling to score – but they are the home team and will likely be favored as a result.  This should be a great game and I’ll feature some in depth analysis on Tuesday.

After four rounds of competition picks, I have a standings update. We’ve been on fire (I’m sorry I’m not sorry), picking winners in our featured games regularly. NBA Picks and Predictions – Featured Game 12/1: Oklahoma City Thunder at New Orleans Hornets

Oh goodness. We are on absolute fire. NBA picks in the JPM system combined with the teaser of the day plays are hitting at 75% for a 3,300 dollar profit in standard 100 dollar bets. It’s the best start to a season I can ever remember. As a hockey guy, maybe it’s for the best that the NHL lockout has continued and allowed us to expand our NBA research a bit!
