I’m an an unabashed LeBron James fan. I would like nothing more than to see the prodigal son return home and make the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA champions. I apologize, guys. I forgot to post a pick today and it’s a shame because we would have won some money together. We were on the Canadiens, Capitals, and Canucks today and at the time of this writing the Canucks are up 2-0, but obviously that game is far from over. I don’t really mind Jake Allen being named the starter tonight, even if he was primarily a backup all season. He posted 22-7-4 record and has been exceptional of late. In fact, I think he gives St. Louis an edge because their platoon has faltered in the playoffs and going with the hot hand is the right strategy here.

On the flip side, Devan Dubnyk has given the Minnesota Wild some stability in net this year. While I have never been impressed with him overall, he’s stood out this season  ...

I like when our NHL picks contest spills over into the playoffs because Game Three with a favorite going on the road for the first time is the definition of a toss up. I think the Caps are the better team and I’m posting this before we know exactly what kind of desperation will turn this into a contest toss up. Will the Islanders be desperate and fighting for their lives? Will they surprise and take control of the series, forcing the Washington Capitals to fight to regain home ice? The Caps are -140 to win the series, -145 at home to open the series, and the first road game of the series is a perfect chance to test what the Islanders are made of.

I like the Chicago Cubs this year. I think they have some dominant pitching at the top of the rotation and they look to have their lineup solidified. I expect them to be much better this season than last year and make the leap to being a competitive franchise.
