MLB Picks: Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres

This is not exactly a forum pick for me, but it’s a lean. I see some serious value in the line at home for the San Diego Padres, and I think the slumping Arizona Diamondbacks have their work cut out for them. That said, with a weak signal from the computer (if any) and an unreliable pitcher on the mound for the home team, I think we should temper our expectations here. I officially don’t have any plays today, but if you’re looking for some action or just need a ...

MLB Picks Contest: Minnesota Twins at Cincinnati Reds

Tuesday, June 30th: Hughes v DeSclafani

Well, after Johnny Cueto’s start was pushed back for no reason, most of you got a pretty easy win from the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cincinnati Reds never really stood a chance, and it was one of the biggest progression bets of the season for my forum. It ended up being a whacky game, so I figure we should give the Reds another chance.

The Minnesota Twins are another terrible team, and on the road they’re a tough team to trust. They definitely have a pitching edge here with Phil Hughes, but the Cincinnati Reds have home field advantage and I don’t think either team is really worth supporting. So, in a game that will never fit my forum because bad teams breed volatility, who do you have? As always, simply comment on this post to participate.

Here are our standings so far:

WIMBLEDON PREVIEW Tennis picks

WIMBLEDON PREVIEW It has become a quintessential part of the British summer – two weeks of rain breaks and people waiting outside queuing up to get the tickets. Yes, Wimbledon 2015 has arrived and you can get yourself in the mood for the championships with my little preview. It is the world’s most prestigious, and most classy tournament in the world – mainly due to its all whites rule and the royal box where a woman named ‘Queen’ sits at times to watch a Scottish man pretending to be British. As it stands Novak and Serena are top seeds, is there any surprise there? ...

MLB Picks: Mark D’s 2015 Baseball Expert Forum Predictions Update

MLB Picks: Mark D’s 2015 Expert MLB Sports Betting Forum Update I just wanted to update you guys on our progress again in the Z-Code VIP Club expert forum for my picks. We’ve missed some low confidence progressions this month and had a couple drops, but we’ve been pretty careful to protect a season worth of impressive profits. As such, we’re still right around the 10 units mark on the year as we’ve mitigated those losses with high winning percentage days and some solid returns. For me that’s $1,000 in profit based on $100 units and $50 average A ...

MLB Picks: Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates, Progression Wager

We had this one pegged as an MLB Picks Contest game, but after Johnny Cueto got removed from this one suddenly I don’t see this as much of a coin flip. You have three games in a row now of a better team with a better pitcher playing better baseball at home. The line is reasonable, the Reds limp in with a spot starter, and I like the Pittsburgh Pirates in an ABC progression here against the Cincinnati Reds.

I have some issues trusting the Pittsburgh Pirates lineup sometimes, and they were a highly mediocre team at the beginning ...

MLB Picks: Kansas City Royals at Seattle Mariners

MLB Picks: Kansas City Royals at Seattle Mariners I know Felix Hernandez hasn’t exactly been dominant this year, but he has been winning games for the Seattle Mariners. The guy has a remarkable record so far, and any time he’s on the hill I think the Mariners have a great chance to win. Against a mediocre Kansas City Royals lineup that is slumping a bit and on the road, I think he’ll be in great form.

What’s more, the Kansas City Royals limp into this one in Seattle with Joe Blanton on the mound. The pitching edge would probably warrant ...

MLB Picks: San Francisco Giants at LA Dodgers

MLB Picks: San Francisco Giants vs LA Dodgers

I love Sunday Night Baseball, and this is one of the most intense rivalries in sports as two New York transplants to battle on the west coast. The San Francisco Giants have had a decent year so far, but they’ve been remarkably inconsistent. The LA Dodgers have had some trouble with injuries, but on the verge of being swept by the San Francisco Giants – can they find a way to win here?

The computer likes the underdog value here. Personally, I’m not going to touch this one for its volatility. That said, ...

MLB Picks Contest: Cincinnati Reds vs Pittsburgh Pirates ($100 Prize)

MLB Picks Contest: Cincinnati Reds vs Pittsburgh Pirates

Johnny Cueto and the Cincinnati Reds are off to a poor start, while the Pittsburgh Pirates haven’t exactly impressed anyone either. The Bucs have the better team and they have a strong pitcher on the mound of their own, but he’s no Cueto. I think that makes this a great contest pick for us here.

The MLB Season is starting to get to that point in the season where the bad teams develop some young chemistry, pitchers hit their stride, and the easy money of the first few months is but a fond and distant memory. We cracked the 20 wins above .500 barrier with our forum, but we’ve lost a couple bets since that mark. It’s a funny time for baseball, and we’ve been exercising a discretion-intensive approach to keep our profits and pick our spots. The results are great, and we’re having a lot fun. To that end, I honestly ...
