MLB Picks Contest Standings ($100 Prize): Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

MLB Picks Contest, Standings Update: Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

This is incredible. I’ve never seen two people rise to the top like this edition of the contest. Coin flip after coin flip, Duane and Alex continue to impress. After a thumping in game one, the Toronto Blue Jays bounced back and knocked off the Boston Red Sox. With split results, here is the latest update to our standings. Remember, first to ten gets $100, and if there’s a tie we’ll go to an extra round of blind picks overtime where each player submits selections by private message, which is always a lot of fun. Keep participating, you guys being active is what makes us do this round after round. Cheers.

MLB Picks Contest ($100 Prize): Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

MLB Picks Contest: Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

Well, this is how we want them to shake up, right? So many variables, so much to look at, and a coin flip line with conflicted computer parameters. Contest games are supposed to be just like this, and I’m always happy when I find them a week in advance. Good luck.

The Computer sees five-star value on the road dog here, but I don’t see it and find obvious conflict in the parameters here. The parameters are in conflict as they are less than 50% likely to win, and this is  ...

MLB Picks: Texas Rangers at New York Yankees

MLB Picks: Texas Rangers at New York Yankees

I still view the Yankees as a liability right now. They’ve suffered key injuries in a rotation that was supposed to be anchored in experience and deep. The lineup is old and fragile, and nobody is really performing how they are supposed to.

That said, guys like Carlos Beltran are starting to get hot and consistent veteran players like Derek Jeter and Ichiro have steadied the storm. This is a crucial stretch for the Yankees, not just this week but going forward. Young arms have filled the holes left by the big-name pitchers  ...

MLB Picks Sunday Night Baseball: LA Dodgers at St. Louis Cardinals

MLB Picks: Sunday Night Baseball, LA Dodgers at St. Louis Cardinals

Clayton Kershaw is unstoppable and he’s a hard guy to bet against. In fact, as a rule, I don’t do it. The question for me here is whether or not the line allows us to support him against a top team like the St. Louis Cardinals, particularly when the LA Dodgers have been so inconsistent.

The computer and I are in agreement here in that this game doesn’t have any value. I don’t bet against Kershaw, so I’m off this one, but the computer is on the Cardinals. Five-star  ...

Tuesday, July 22nd.

The All-Star Break is over, so let’s get back to our competition. I’ll feature a couple of mediocre teams, divisional rivals, in the back end of their pitching rotation for this one.

I avoid games where there is volatility like this. Bad teams create unpredictability. This game could go either way. Home edge, or a winning tradition in recent years? Both teams are playing pretty average baseball coming into the break, so Tuesday’s game looks like a toss up to me.

As always, just comment on the  ...

MLB Picks: Mark’s ABC System Featuring ABC, AB, and Flat Bets

MLB Picks System: Mark’s ABC, AB Doubler, Flat Betting Hybrid

So today I get to feature my own system because, quite honestly, the only sport I follow is on a break.. but I think this is good opportunity to offer insights into the second half of the season, and key on what makes the Z-Code system so worthwhile. Last season we finished up almost 40 units, and this year we’ve peaked at around 20 units with about a half unit average bet size, finishing up 500 dollars the last two days of the season’s first half.

My system is simple and straightforward, and 100% transparent. It’s a filtration of key parameters I’ve developed over the year, and I’ve never had a losing season. My system was featured in our latest podcast, so if you have any questions check out our podcast for a bit more information.

The five parameters I use are:

1. Pitching advantage – of the two  ...

“Match Score” Free Betting Strategy

by Alex Gouder

They say that it is impossible to guess the exact score of a match. In reality, this is not entirely true. It is very possible to guess it. If you take a look at the statistics, you will notice that half of the games in the European championships end with the scores 0-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-0.

However, for this strategy, it is not as important to determine the score of the game. What is important is to know how to make competent bets.

So, let’s take a look at a few betting options using the “match score”  ...

MLB Picks Contest, All Star Break Standings Update: New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles

MLB All-Star Break: Baseball Picks Contest Standings, Yankees Orioles

Not a lot of participation in this round of the competition, but the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New York Yankees in a shortened game to take us to the All Star Break. Congratulations to our winners, which were few and far between. Hopefully when baseball returns we’ll have some more support. Our leaders can still be caught! That said, congratulations to Alex and Duane, who padded their leads.

MLB Picks Contest: New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles

Vegas is taking a little extra time to post the line, which makes sense as this one feels like yet another contest coin flip.

The Yankees are winners. They find ways to win despite injuries and are always in the hunt. Last year their aging roster stumbled through the season and this year is more of the same. That said, they’re not too far back, even with their latest loss of Tanaka.

The Orioles are upstart. They’re loaded with young talent and have one of the best managers in baseball. They  ...
