NFC South Preseason Division Predictions 2015: Atlanta Falcons

NFC South Preseason Predictions: Atlanta Falcons Win Mediocre Division By Default I don’t know what to say about this division because everyone is just so terrible. This isn’t even fun to write. I feel like I can barely name the teams in this division and I live in New Orleans. I think the Atlanta Falcons, by default, are going to win the division because the New Orleans Saints imploded, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t ready to be competitive, and the Carolina Panthers are too inconsistent. There, that wasn’t so hard.

1. Atlanta Falcons (10-6): The offense is really exciting. There is a good young rotation of running backs, the wide receivers are exciting, Matt Ryan is reliable, and the connection between Ryan and Jones is among the best in the league. That said, there will be growing pains here with the new coaching staff and the defense is pretty abysmal every year. I think they’ll win the division and be competitive,  ...

NFL Picks Week Ten: Saints Niners, Falcons Bucs

NFL Picks Week Ten, Double Pick: New Orleans Saints vs San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFL Picks Week Ten: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This line opened up at -1 and we jumped in. Again, by being early this week, my forum saved us some points for the VIP Club community, but we’ll analyze this one both ways. I just don’t see how the Atlanta Falcons can be this bad, and I still don’t believe in the Bucs.

I think it is a tremendous mistake to go back to Josh McCown over future franchise quarterbacks, even if they’re as mediocre as Mike Glennon. This is a lifetime backup who had one decent season in Chicago with some of the best weapons in football. On a team as weak as Tampa, I don’t see him having success. I also question breaking up the connection that Glennon was establishing with a now-healthy Mike Evans. Either way,  ...

NFL Picks: Sunday Night Football – Packers at Saints

NFL Picks, Sunday Night Football: Green Bay Packers at New Orleans Saints

This looks like a trap. The Green Bay Packers have two thirds of the public money on them, yet the line has approached +3 from it’s humbler origins. Vegas is reacting the opposite way to money, which is a sign they know something we don’t. Let’s talk about what we do know:

New Orleans is a really difficult place to play and the Saints rarely lose at home.

Jimmy Graham is playing and should be better this week than last, which makes their offense much better.

The Saints are getting desperate.

The Packers aren’t that good. Lacy is off to a slow start, the offense is imbalanced, and the Saints defense might be able to contain this middling bunch. It’s all about noise and pressure.

I think the Saints give the Packers a game, and unless there is a sharp line reversal at game time, I’m  ...

Free NFL Picks Contest on Facebook ($200 Prizes): Packers Saints Week Eight

NFL Picks Contest Week 8 ($200 Prizes): Packers Saints

Someone tell me how the Saints are favored after how horrible they’ve been all year? This is a straightforward Las Vegas trap game if I’ve ever seen one – even though I know the Saints are much better at home in the dome. Heck, that’s probably what the trap is being laid for… so who ya got? Saints -1 is the line, but for our purposes let’s just make it a pick ’em. NFL Picks Contest ($200 Prizes) Week Four: New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys

NFL Picks Contest: New Orleans Saints (-3) at Dallas CowboysSunday Night Football Drew Brees doesn’t appear to be quite right this year, the Saints defense has been sloppy, and the Cowboys offense has been crisp and brilliant at times and horrible at others. On the road, the Saints are favored by a field goal. There is no doubt in my mind if the Dallas Cowboys play like they did in the second half of last week, they win this game at home. Which Cowboys team shows up? Will Drew Brees finally get it together against the beleaguered secondary of the Dallas Cowboys? At its best, this could be a high-flying, exciting shootout. At it’s worst, this could be very sloppy. Who ya got, against the spread? Who Dat Nation or America’s Team?

As always, comment on this post on our Facebook page to participate in our contest.

NFL Picks Week Three: Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints

NFL Picks Week Three: Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints This spread looks tricky to me. It’s a little too big for me to feel comfortable. The New Orleans Saints defense has been sloppy, and the offense hasn’t quite done enough. This game against the Minnesota Vikings could be tough, but 11 points seems like too many – with or without Adrian Peterson.

That said, the money line has some value for me. The computer says the New Orleans Saints have an 80% chance to win this game straight up. It’s their home opener, they won’t open 0-3, and the Saints  ...

NFL Picks Week Two: New Orleans Saints at Cleveland Browns

NFL Picks Week Two: New Orleans Saints at Cleveland Browns

It’s rare that I disagree with such a strong signal from the computer, but I am going my own way on this game. I just don’t see the Cleveland Browns hanging with an angry Saints team that fumbled away a win last week. The Browns looked good against Pitt, the Browns are home, and the Browns are better than most people give them credit for. The spread is big and the Saints are on the road… from a mechanical, algorithmic approach, I understand the output. I just don’t agree.

NFL Playoffs Predictions 2014: Saints, Seahawks, Packers Recap

NFL Playoffs Predictions 2014: Saints, Seahawks, Packers Recap

Green Bay Packers (12-4): Last season was derailed by Aaron Rodgers’ injury, but with him healthy they’re one of the best in football year in and year out. I expect more of the same in 2014. Seattle Seahawks (12-4): A talented bunch led by their defense and a balanced offense. They kept their Super Bowl core together and should be just as good. New Orleans Saints (11-5): The Falcons should be better, the Panthers surprised everyone last year, but the Saints still have a pretty damn impressive offense. If the defense is serviceable, they win the division. New York Giants (10-6): Eli Manning bounces back, Jennings balances the attack, and an improved secondary contains the opposition. If the Eagles slip, the Giants can take a terrible NFC East. San Francisco 49ers (11-5): The defense has some injuries it will have to deal with early, and the dramatics last season seemed to tamper  ...

2014 NFL Predictions, NFC South: New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons

2014 NFL Preseason Predictions: NFC South – New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons

Our next edition of 2014 preseason predictions takes us to the NFC South, where last season was full of surprises. The NFL is so rich with parity and divisional rivalries are so intense that anything is possible, as the NFC South showed. The Atlanta Falcons fell off the face of the earth, while the Carolina Panthers came out of nowhere to steal the division crown. Really, though, this division comes down to how good the New Orleans Saints really are. They cut a lot of pieces, tied down Jimmy Graham, and are in the twilight of Drew Brees’ magical career. Where exactly does that leave them? Let’s take a look.

1. New Orleans Saints (11-5): It’s not just because I moved to New Orleans last year and believe in the magic of this city. It’s not just because of a man crush I have on Drew  ...
