NFL Playoffs Picks: Super Bowl Prediction – Denver Broncos Vs Seattle Seahawks
I’ve hit the big game every year since the Giants upset the unbeaten Patriots. We’re on something of a streak, and I’ve published this pick for the last five years. Last year, with a great deal of trepidation, we hammered the Ravens and it paid off. This year, with a similar lack of confidence, I’m on the Broncos, but I certainly won’t be laying 12 units of fun like I did last year. Still, if you followed our 8-2 playoff picks, you’re playing with house money. Perhaps it’s a sign of maturity, but I’ll walk away with no less than $500 of playoff profit, but could win up to nearly $1100.
Here are all the reasons I think the Seahawks might win this game:
Colder weather – Peyton Manning doesn’t play well in the cold. If it snows, it favors the Seahawks even more. This could be a dangerous game for the Broncos.
Legion of Boom – Think what you want of Richard Sherman, but if there’s a secondary in football that can cover all of Peyton’s weapons, it’s the Seahawks.
Peyton Manning – Does the Hall of Famer have one more choke in him? He’s found a way to let playoff glory slip away in most of his trips to the postseason.
Here’s why I’m betting the Broncos:
I don’t like the Seahawks. I don’t like the trash talk, I don’t like their NCAA banned coach, I don’t like the sensationalism of the 12th man, and I don’t really like Seattle as a city – birthplace of Twilight and Starbucks, rainy capital of the Free World.
I trust Peyton Manning. It may be misplaced, but he hasn’t let me down in some time. He won us a lot of money this season, and I feel a strange sense of loyalty to him, his giant head, and his laser rocket arm.
I don’t think the Seahawks offense has enough weapons to keep pace. I expect the Broncos to score – maybe not at the torrid pace we’re used to, but they’ll get in the end zone. Will the Seahawks? I don’t think they’ll be able to run the ball like most are predicting, and I don’t think Wilson can out duel Peyton Manning.
