Brasil vs Croatia > Brasil to win 3-1
Hosts are under pressure on home ground but they showed they are ready for big things. Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari made strong team with Neymar as main player. They are big favorite in 1st game in front of their fans.Croatia has quality, specially in midfield with Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic. Main striker Mario Mandzukic got red card in last qualification game and he wont play in this game which is big problem for Croatia. Temperature will be high and weather conditions will be advantage for hosts too.
Mexico vs Cameroon > Mexico to win 1-0
Mexico has lot of talent but had tough road to this World Cup. They are having tough 1st game but “Chicarito” Hernandez and company has chances in this group. Cameroon with Samuel Eto’o in front will have at least one quality option but thats not enough. All in all, a lack of real ability, combined with not much discipline in game,could cost Africans.
Spain vs Holland > Spain to win 2-1
Defending champion has tough exam at the start.Spain is coming with great team and they know how to win titles.Xavi,Inniesta will create chances and Diego Costa will have 1st big competition. No European team qualified with a better record than Holland. Louis van Gaal has mix young and experienced players but they need time.Spain has advantage in this game.
Chile vs Australia > Chile to win 3-0
Chile was great on last World Cup and they could repeat that in Brazil. Coach Sampaoli has discipline team. Their high-pressing and attacking style is very dangerous.Alexis Sanchez and Vidal can do a lot in front and Chile will be threat for everyone.Australia had good result on World Cup 2006. but new generation isnt that good and they will have lot of problems with quick South Americans.
Colombia vs Greece > Colombia to win 1-0
Lets hope Falcao will be ready for Colombians.Together with Gutierrez and Jackson Martinez, offense should be efficient.Midfielders James Rodriguez and Fredy Guarin are great creators. Coach Peckerman has not so impressive defense and thats their weakness.Greece is coming with their iron defense and thy will base their game on that.Forward Mitroglou will probably be alone in front.
Uruguay vs Costa Rica > Uruguay to win 3-1
Fourth-place from last WC is big obligation for Uruguay and win on Copa America a year later showed that this team is very capable.Lugano and Forlan wont be in this team but coach Tabarez has solid team with atomic offense(Cavani and Luis Suarez) and not so powerful defense.Costa Rica has some interesting players like Ruiz,Bolanos,Campbell and Saborio but they are far from elite ones.Uruguay should prevail.
England vs Italy > draw 1-1
England is football nation and they always want top results but reality is that they aren’t among big favorites on this WC. Coach Hodgson is well known for discipline and Rooney will be real threat in front but for something bigger they need more players to step up. Italy with Prandelli on bench has tactical flexibility and great young options in front with Balotelli and El Shaarawy. Giuseppe Rossi isn’t ready yet but he will be dangerous addition.Pirlo will be creator on midfield and he has great experience.Buffon on goal and strong defense should be their plus.Close game at the begining and both teams will play with caution.
Ivory Coast vs Japan > draw 1-1
Last chance for this generation lead by Didier Drogba,Toure brothers,Zokora… Bad results in last two WC are showed that defense is their main problem and that’s still exist. Alberto Zaccheroni’s Japan is very quick team with two good playmakers(Honda and Kagawa). Their passing play is nice to watch but other parts of the team isn’t on high level.Group C is very equal so every point will be crucial.
Switzerland vs Ecuador > draw 1-1
Swiss team has good and experienced coach Hitzfeld and few great players like Inler,Shaqiri,Xhaka but as a team they arent unbeatable. Ecuador is solid team with not good defense. There are some solid options in front like Valencia and Montero but they need to act like a team.This game will show are they capable to make next round.
France vs Honduras > France to win 2-0
France had terrible last WC and tough road to qualify for this tournament.They want good result here as announcement for next European championship in their country.Ribery,Nasri and Benzema are very capable players but we will see how will they act like a team.Honduras is happy to be here and they are without pressure.They dont have stars in team,which isnt bad thing cause they are better as a team but lackof quality will cost them.France should prevail.
Argentina vs Bosnia and Herzegovina >Argentina to win 3-1
Argentina is one of main favorites on this WC.Lot of offensive power with Messi,Higuain,Lavezzi,Aquero together with solid midfielders should be enough for atleast semifinal.Some concerns exist in defense so Bosnia need to use that. B&H has quality and they showed that in qualifications.Dzeko,Ibisevic,Pjanic,Lulic can be threat for every team but they dont have deep squad and they are without experience on big competitions since they are on WC for the 1st time.Interesting game,Argentina has advantage.
Germany vs Portugal >Germany to win 2-1
One of derbies in 1st round. Germans coming for the title,no doubt.Strong midfield with Ozil, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Muller, Gotze and solid offense with Mario Gomez and old fox Klose are quarantee for big things.Neuer on goal look good and defense isn’t bad at all.Portugal will be good test for Germans on start. They are solid defensively with Moutinho as creator and Cristiano Ronaldo as main weapon.Real striker remain big problem for them. Germany to win.
Iran vs Nigeria > Nigeria to win 2-0
Coach of Iran Carlos Queiroz led them to this tournament.They are playing team game and they are without lot of quality.Nigeria is winner of last African Cup and they could make some noise on this tournament. Few solid pieces like Moses,Emenike and Musa should be enough for three points on the start.
Ghana vs USA > Ghana to win 1-0
Ghana has quality but lack of commitment from some players is their big problem. Kevin-Prince Boateng, Ayew brothers and Kwadwo Asamoah are good players and there is experienced Essien. Ghana had great success in last two WC and if their defense holds,they could do it again. USA is solid team but they aren’t impressive. Not much great players,Donovan and Dempsey will lead them.Tough group for both teams,expect close game and small advantage for Africans.
Belgium vs Algeria > Belgium to win 3-0
Belgium is interesting squad and very talented.Lot of experts expect from them miracles on this tournament.Defender Kompany ,midfielders Hazard,De Bruyne and in front Fellaini, Lukaku and Benteke are great options and can be dangerous for everyone. Lack of experience could be the problem but vs Africans they are clear favorites. Algeria had lot of luck to qualify for this WC. They are having some interesting pieces like Bougherra, Djebbour, Medjani, Yebda and young Feghouli but at opener they are outsiders.
Russia vs South Korea > Russia to win 1-0
Coach Fabio Capello brought discipline in this Russian team.They make it to this WC from tough group.Dzagoev is their main playmaker but lot of players don’t have experience on this level. South Korea had great WC 2002, but this team is far from that.They are hard workers ,no doubt but quality isn’t their advantage.Small lean on Russia here.
