Premier League matchday 11

Manchester City vs. Fulham

Manchester City are coming off of a 5-0 thrashing of Burnley. Although they scored five goals last weekend, Manchester City have not been great in front of goal this season. That said, the Cityzens should have no issue defeating Fulham.

Fulham have allowed the league’s most goals, 19. Manchester City could put over 3.5 goals past Fulham. Manchester City could begin moving up the table and away from the middle of the pack spot they occupy.

Result: Manchester City win

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Arsenal

On Sunday, league leader Tottenham Hotspur host north London rival Arsenal. Spurs are level on points with Liverpool and could go top of the table all alone with a win. Tottenham could put pressure on Liverpool — who play later in the day on Sunday –with a victory.

Arsenal are underachieving in the league this season. Mikel Arteta’s team are winless in five of their last six games. Four of those matches ended in losses.

The last five games between the rivals played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (or on Spurs’ home turf before moving to the new ground) ended with a home victory. Four straight games in all competitions between these clubs finished with Spurs gaining a win or draw.

Both teams will play on Thursday night in the Europa League. Play injuries could make difference when the game kicks off on Sunday. However, as it stands, both teams have their best players fit. Arsenal should give Tottenham a fight early on but ultimately lose to Spurs.

Result: Tottenham Hotspur win

Liverpool vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Liverpool have nine first-team players suffering from injuries. The latest is goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Manager Jurgen Klopp may turn to third-choice shot-stopper Caoimhin Kelleher for the game at home versus Wolverhampton Wanderers. Klopp used Kelleher on Tuesday night in the Champions League against Ajax and the youngster pitched a shut out as Liverpool won 1-0.

Still, Liverpool have key players out with injury, especially in defence. Klopp is unlikely to rotate his side this weekend, however. He needs to win to keep pace with Spurs.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be without star striker Raul Jimenez. The Mexican international collided heads with Arsenal’s David Luiz last weekend, fracturing his skull and sending him to A&E for emergency surgery.

Liverpool have won four straight league games against Wolves outscoring the 7-1. Liverpool have kept two clean sheets at home in their last two games versus Wolves. I believe Liverpool win to nil once more, although Zcode’s Soccer Buddy app suggests BTTS in a game with over 2.5 goals.

Result: Liverpool to win
