NHL Picks Contest Game: San Jose Sharks at Anaheim Ducks
Well, we pick the tough ones for our contest and this is no exception. The second game of a home and home between two elite teams poses a difficult choice. With my money, I will not be touching this game. With my contest pick and my heart, I side with the Anaheim Ducks.
The Ducks are the better team, in my opinion. They’ve won ten of 11 games and they’re cruising. They lost in the Shark Tank in the first of these two, but now they come back home where the Sharks are not nearly as dominant. The door is open for the Ducks here in a meaningful New Year’s Eve game that isn’t football related.
The computer also suggests staying away. They give slight underdog value and a 55% chance for the underdog Sharks to win. Still, this is a conflicting parameter. As an underdog with a 55% chance to win, there should be more value in the line. The computer is conflicted, as are we, and it’s probably best to just avoid this one as far as money goes.
