NHL Picks: Arizona Coyotes at Anaheim Ducks
This is a trickier game than it looks. On it’s face, the Anaheim Ducks are the obvious pick even at these sharp odds. They’ve won four in a row while the Arizona Coyotes struggle, the Ducks are on home ice, and by and large the Ducks are the drastically better team as they look to be a top team our West while the Coyotes are battling to avoid last place.
That said, this win streak isn’t all that it looks to be. The Ducks have gotten lucky in a couple games with good bounces. While the defense has been stellar, this offense continues to struggle despite incredible talent.
Further, Anaheim is tired. This is their third game in four days and they should be a little slow. Combine some fatigue with a slumping offense and you have a recipe for a -200 disaster.
That said, the Arizona Coyotes really are as bad as they look. They’re young and they have some promise from night to night, so I am not trying to suggest you should always bet against them, but on the road against an elite team this should be a slam dunk.
Given all the conditions around this game, we temper our wager slightly but move forward with a play on the Ducks. I won’t try to talk my way out of this one. Just be careful with spread and regulation bets, because Vegas will still clean up if this one is close.
