NFL Picks Week 3: Kansas City versus Baltimore Set For Showdown

The NFL season is in full swing with two weeks of games in the books.  Injuries are taking their toll, but the games must go on and there are several great matchups this week with the Chiefs and the Ravens highlighting play.

Green Bay Packers versus New Orleans Saints

The Packers enter the contest with a 2-0 record, first in the NFC North, while the Saints are tied for the top in the NFC South at 1-1. The Saints have a narrow +29 to +28 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator, however the Packers are “burning hot” versus “average up” on the Team Strength Oscillator.  The Saints are a slight home favorite wit an over/under of 51.5  Expect a high scoring contest with these two powerhouse offenses, so go with the “over”.  New Orleans is difficult to beat at home on their fast track, so expect the Saints to come away with a narrow victory.

Houston Texans versus Pittsburgh Steelers

Houston has dropped their first two by a combined 31 points and the Steelers are cruising at 2-0, tied for first in the AFC North. The Steelers hold a +17 to +9 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “burning hot” versus “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator.  The Steelers are a little more than a field goal favorite with an over/under or 44.5. If considering betting the over/under, the Totals Predictor indicates that the teams are trending on opposite sides of the line. Expect the Texans to play better than they have, but not good enough to overtake a hot Pittsburgh team.

Dallas Cowboys versus Seattle Seahawks

The Cowboys are coming off an improbable win against the Falcons to avoid an 0-2 start. Seattle has been rolling to start the season, scoring 73 points in their two wins. Seattle has a large edge of +27 to +6 on the Power Ranking Indicator. The Seahawks are “burning hot” at the moment and are solid favorites with an over/under of 55.5. Dallas has “average” status on the Team Strength Oscillator.  If considering the over/under, the Totals Predictor shows both teams participating in games trending well over the line. This should be an exciting high scoring contest to take the “over”. Look for Seattle to hold on late to move to 3-0 for the season.

Tennessee Titans versus Minnesota Vikings

The Titans sit on top of the AFC South with a 2-0 record, while the Vikings have stumbled out of the gates at 0-2. The Titans are less than a field goal favorite in this one with an over/under of 47.5  On the Power Ranking Indicator, the Titans hold a +19 to +5 advantage and are “burning hot” versus “dead” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Although the Vikings have scored just 45 points, they have been playing in games trending “over” due to a porous defense that has allowed 71 points. It’s uncharacteristic for the Vikings to start off 0-3, but that’s the pick. Expect Tennessee to win and cover.

Kansas City Chiefs versus Baltimore Ravens

Both teams are off to 2-0 starts, leading their respective divisions. The Ravens have dominated, outscoring their opponents 71-22. The Chiefs won last year’s meeting between the teams by a 33-28 score. They hold a +31 to +29 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator, while both teams are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Baltimore is a slight favorite at home with an over/under of 51.5. This is a classic game featuring potent offense of the Chiefs versus lockdown defense of the Ravens.  Baltimore has plenty of fire on offense as well against a not as stellar Kansas City defense. Pick the “under” in this one and Baltimore to edge the Chiefs in a close game decided late.
