Misfits Boxing: KSI to battle FaZe Temper Saturday, January 14, 2023

Let’s get ready to rumble…. or should we say stumble, as another Internet celebrity boxing match will take place this weekend.

There is definitely a section of sports fans that loves watching Internet celebrities strap on the gloves and go toe-to-toe in the squared circle to set real or fake beef.

On Saturday night, Misfits Boxing will present YouTuber KSI fighting esports gamer FaZe Temper. The YouTuber boxing genre has attracted plenty of fans and money, and Saturday’s bout is likely to draw millions of dollars via pay-per-view as the two social media influencers fight at 12,500-seat OVO Arena in London.

KSI was initially contracted to box Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Bellator fighter Dillon Danis. Danis pulled out of the fight due to “weight issues” and a lack of preparation for a boxing match.KSI, who owns and promotes Misfits Boxing, will now touch gloves with esports gamer FaZe.

KSI vs FaZe background

KSI is the owner of Misfit Boxing. He is credited with starting the Internet celebrity boxing craze after his 2018 bout with Longan Paul drew £13 million (approx $15.8 million) in revenue.

Danis was originally supposed to fight KSI. However, Danis pulled out of the fight and stated the real reason for quitting the match would “shock” fans. However, it is currently believed he simply wasn’t prepared for the fight.

FaZe was booked to fight on the card against a mystery opponent. However, after Danis pulled out of the show, FaZe took the main event fight on short notice. FaZe has fought three times posting two wins and a draw, with one knockout in his career.

KSI vs FaZe Temper Tips

FaZe took the fight on short notice. This isn’t usually a great way to set up a major fight. However, this is an exhibition boxing match by two men that fancy themselves as athletes.

Let’s not pretend KSI and FaZe are boxers who spent years honing their crafts. These are Internet celebrities putting on boxing gloves and having the equivalent of a tough man contest.

Anything can happen in the fight. KSI owns the fight promotion, so it may be in FaZe’s best interest not to knock out the owner. In all seriousness, KSI is the heavy favourite which means there are few reasons to back him to win outright. Rather than betting on KSI to win, it would be better to place a bet on FaZe to win at odds of +700. Keep in mind that FaZe has a size and weight advantage, so he could win the match.

Some sportsbooks are only offering one market for this fight and that is the ‘to win’ market. If you don’t fancy betting £10/$10/€10 on FaZe to win, then you may want to stay away from placing a wager on the fight.
