Miami made us our money and closed out the Pacers as expected, and the Spurs battled through a very good team in the Thunder. I think this series is exactly what it’s supposed to be… the two best teams in basketball are playing.
The Spurs are out for revenge, but the Heat have the best player in the basketball world. I think Lebron James can taste another win. I don’t know how San Antonio can stop them.

It’s a tough week here for me… We’ve hit all our baseball posts, but I’ve only bet four games. We’ve been off both hockey series because the teams I want to see win don’t look sharp. What an incredible, exciting, wonderful series! For me, the value has been on the points all series. I think these are two evenly matched teams with explosive offenses and big star power. The Thunder have a bit more playoff experience, the Clippers have a bit more offense, and the coaching on both sides is phenomenal.
As such, home field doesn’t do much for me. Points and teasers have paid out nicely in two of three so far. Can the home team bounce back?

This line has moved a couple points since it opened. I got in at -1, now it’s -3. I now prefer the money line to the spread if you got in late.
I think the LA Clippers are too big, too strong, and too dynamic for Golden State. I hate betting against the Warriors because they can shoot so well, but I think the Clippers are so much more consistent that they’ll be fine, even on the road. If Curry goes off for 50 and Thompson scores more than seven, we might be in trouble, but I think the Clippers can control this game.

Wouldn’t it be wild if the SEC Final is a preview of the NCAA Championship? Well, the way Florida and Kentucky are both playing, that’s my prediction right now.
1. Florida vs 7. Uconn
I had Connecticut going far in the tournament – though I didn’t expect them to survive last round. They have leadership, dynamic guard play, and when it mattered most their defense stepped up big. Simply put, I don’t think they have the weapons to keep up with Florida. Florida has the same defensive tenacity, if not more, but they also have players to create their own offense. When push comes to shove, I think Florida controls this game.

After a short break, the round of 16 has started in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. We thought it would be a good time to update our brackets. Our final four is largely in tact, and we even nailed the upset of Wichita State last round. That leaves us with teams we know very well, but a few surprises. It’s time to take another look:

Who saw this one coming? Either way a double digit seed will make it to the next round. I’m not putting money on this one, but I have to believe Stanford has the edge.
