The Spurs may be a little tired, but the Pelicans are struggling mightily right now. Blowout losses to bad teams continue to plague New Orleans as their losing streak grows.

The Pels are simply not playing good basketball, and it’s hard to see them snapping out of it against a team as skilled and well-prepared as the Spurs. San Antonio is hot, and they should handle business in New Orleans.

It’s funny, but I think the most difficult game to predict this Tuesday is between two pretty bad teams. The Panthers aren’t far removed from the playoffs and went out and got a pretty decent goalie in Tim Thomas, but they’ve struggled most of the year. The New York Islanders, in perhaps even more disappointing fashion, traded for Thomas Vanek only to sputter into the depths of the Metropolitan Division. Bad teams lend to volatility, and I really like this game as a contest pick…

After going 3-1 against the spread in the first round of the playoffs, we’re back at it again hoping to stay hot as the NFL season comes to a close. Here are our picks for the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs:

New England Patriots (-7) over Indianapolis Colts

These are two teams that are not complete. The Colts are without their top wide receiver, and their offense has stumbled down the stretch as a result. Still, their incredible comeback has them in the second round. The Pats are on a bye and home, so that should be enough for their mad genius coach to shut down the Colts. I know the Patriots are missing some weapons and -7 has me nervous against a team as lucky as the Colts seem to be, but I think the Patriots will win this game and lean to New England to cover.

My New Jersey Devils blew the lead in the third, and ultimately lost in overtime to the hated Philadelphia Flyers. A few of you were able to successfully predict the outcome of this challenging game. Congratulations!
