According to the overnight TV ratings, Sunday’s thrilling USA v Portugal game won more than 50 million viewers in the U.S. and Canada — despite the fact that it was only to be found on cable networks ESPN and Univision. Not only was that an all-time record for a soccer match, it also beat the average viewership for the 2013 World Series by 25 million viewers.

This is just a simple bet on a pitcher here for me. I think that Cueto is having a phenomenal year and he’s an ace and one of the best pitchers in baseball. He goes against a streaky lineup and there’s a good chance he shuts them down completely. The Reds may be the better team, but it’s close. What isn’t close is this distinct pitching edge and there’s some serious value in the line for a low confidence wager.

MLB Picks: LA Angels at Cleveland Indians, flat bet opportunity
I think the Angels are the better team, though they’re cold. The Indians have won two in a row and looked good with pitching edges to close out their last series, but I think this small element of momentum can be explained away. I’m on the Angels here, on the road, for the value in the line.
The Angels are the much bigger name and they bring their ace to a game that they would really like to stop the bleeding in. I think they have the deeper lineup for sure, and while I respect the potential of Bauer, I find Weaver to be a proven ace with a long track record of consistent pitching, even on the road.
I look for Weaver to control this game, and at -110 there’s too much value to ignore. Small bet for me here.
