NFL Picks Week Six: Monday Night Football, Indianapolis Colts at San Diego Chargers

NFL Picks Week Six: Monday Night Football – Indianapolis Colts at San Diego Chargers

Operating under the assumption that the Colts aren’t looking forward to next week’s matchup with an unbeaten Peyton Manning, I still don’t like this game very much.

Z-Code doesn’t either. This is a coin flip. A 50/50 moneyline projection with one-star of value on the road favorites. There’s a lot that goes into this game, but it’s a tough one.

The San Diego Chargers are the least predictable team in football. They beat the Dallas Cowboys fairly convincingly, but they also lost to the lowly Oakland  ...

NFL Picks Week Six: Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys, Sunday Night Football

NFL Picks and Predictions Week Six: Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football

The Cowboys shocked the world by covering the spread before a not-so-shocking Tony Romo interception cost the Cowboys a chance at knocking off the unbeaten Broncos.

Still, I love the way they played. Romo was able to put together one of the finest performances of his career because of the balance the Cowboys finally have on offense. Murray is a bruising back and the Cowboys have a plethora of weapons.

I don’t expect the Washington Redskins to be able to contain this offense. The Cowboys defense  ...

NFL Picks Week Six: New York Giants at Chicago Bears, Thursday Night Football

NFL Picks and Predictions Week Six: New York Giants at Chicago Bears, Thursday Night Football

Is there a team in football right now worse than the Giants? Of course there is – the Jaguars – but after that? The New York media is calling for Tom Coughlin’s head. Eli Manning is having an atrocious season. The wide receivers are banged up, the line is in shambles, and the running game is non-existant. The Giants are in big, big trouble.

The Bears have been much more consistent this year. At Soldier Field, the Giants have their work cut out for them.  ...

Monday Night Football Week Five: Atlanta Falcons Vs New York Jets

NFL Picks and Predictions Week Five: Monday Night Football – New York Jets at Atlanta Falcons

Z-Code is all over the dirty birds at home tonight, even with the ten point spread. There’s only a moderate amount of conflict in the line, which is rare when spreads get this out of control. In a battle between two mediocre teams (so far, at least), we side with the team we still have significantly higher expectations for.

I don’t think the Jets are very good. I know they’ve played well enough to win tight games against decent opponents, but I don’t know  ...

NFL Picks Week Five: Denver Broncos at Dallas Cowboys

NFL Picks and Predictions Week Five: Denver Broncos at Dallas Cowboys

This game has looked screwy from the start. A seven-point spread doesn’t seem appropriate here, given how poorly the Cowboys have played this year and given Peyton Manning’s world-obliterating performance so far this year.

Public money agrees with us. Walking right into Vegas’ little trap, Z-Code money trackers show approximately 70% of the money coming in on the Broncos. Personally, I think this spread should be double digits. As such, I find value, just like everyone else, on the Broncos.

Z-Code likes the Broncos in a moneyline wager here.  ...

NFL Picks Week Four: San Francisco 49ers at St. Louis Rams, Thursday Night Football

NFL Picks and Predictions, Week Four: San Francisco 49ers at St. Louis Rams – Thursday Night Football

There are two trends, three really if you consider the downward spiral of the 49ers to be a trend, that make me very nervous about this game. First, Thursday Night Football always favors the home team. Since its inception into the NFL, the lack of prep time and the travel considerations of a shorter week always favor the home team. Second, the Rams beat the Niners last year in two tight, divisional rivalry games.

First, I don’t think the Rams’ wins last year  ...

NFL Picks Week Three: Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday Night Football

NFL Picks and Predictions Week Three: Sunday Night Football – Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers

This is one of many interesting trap games this week. The line seems to lend a ton of value to the Chicago Bears, and while I and the rest of the community are on them with some degree of confidence, let me explain why there’s some risk involved in this pick.

First of all, the Chicago Bears line is an abomination. Jay Cutler is on his back more than Jenna Jameson in her prime – before all those plastic surgery operations messed up her face.

NFL Picks 9/19: Thursday Night Football – Kansas City Chiefs at Philadelphia Eagles

NFL Picks and Predictions: Thursday Night Football – Kansas City Chiefs at Philadelphia Eagles

In a game with almost no Z-Code signal, I thought it would be fun to bring back one of my favorite forms of analysis – the bullet point organization of a tricky game. Unfortunately, I still can’t come to a decision. Let’s check out why:

1. Thursday Night Football always favors the home team. With less time to prepare, road teams historically have some serious difficulty adjusting to the short week with travel. Beware road teams on Thursdays! It’s a DEFINITE trend.

2. Both the Philadelphia  ...

NFL Picks and Predictions Week Two: Thursday Night Football – New England Patriots Vs New York Jets

NFL Picks and Predictions: Thursday Night Football – New York Jets at New England Patriots

I’m on the Patriots -12 and the Patriots teased to -6 with the over. I am very low confidence and betting this because it is the only show in town and I’m looking for fun… I would not qualify this spread as a system play, but I will be on it.

The Jets surprised everyone when they stole a win from the Bucs, who I thought were going to have a great year. New York is a garbage team with a slow defense, weak running  ...

Week One NFL Picks: Monday Night Football – Houston Texans at San Diego Chargers

NFL Picks and Predictions: Monday Night Football – Houston Texans at San Diego Chargers

Monday Night Football features two seemingly obvious games, a seemingly valuable line, and a seemingly simple choice…

Monday Night Football is tricky, however, because Las Vegas has a lot of action on only a few games (usually one). They can control the intake and push the action – think back to that Seahawks Packers game from last year that was lost on a blown call hail mary…

I would not go high confidence on either of these “obvious plays” – but they do look pretty good.
