Premier League picks February 29: Liverpool aim to continue 28-game unbeaten run

The Premier League title race is nearly done and dusted. Liverpool need just 12 more points to win their first league championship in 30 years.

Just 11 games remain in the Premier League season. Even with Liverpool nearly wrapping up the league title, there is still a lot to play for this weekend.

Watford vs. Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s team are coming off a come from behind 3-2 win against West Ham on Monday night. It was a more difficult game than expected and it could leave the door open for Watford to get a massive home win.

Watford are fighting relegation and after a surge in December, have reverted back to the inconsistent team they were previously. Watford are winless in their last five games with three ending in losses.

There is no result in this game but a Liverpool win. Liverpool have won to nil in four straight games against the Hornets. Expect Liverpool to keep another clean sheet despite conceding two goals to West Ham last weekend.

Winner: Liverpool

Bournemouth vs. Chelsea

Chelsea are clinging onto fourth place in the Premier League. The Blues have won just once in their last five league matches. They picked up a big 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur a week ago, but there is no guarantee they will beat Bournemouth on Saturday.

Bournemouth have won their last two games against Chelsea by a 5-0 scoreline. Last season the Cherries won 4-0 at home against Chelsea. They then went to Stamford Bridge earlier this season and claimed a shock 1-0 victory.

Chelsea could be without striker Tammy Abraham. The Englishman has an ankle injury that is keeping him out of the team. The Blues lack a cutting-edge in the final third without Abraham and they have relied heavily on him this season. Abraham has scored 13 goals in 25 games. It is doubtful Abraham will play on Saturday as he limped out of training on Wednesday.

Winner: Chelsea/Draw

West Ham vs. Southampton

West Ham are verging on relegation from the Premier League. The Hammers are 18th in the league and have lost back to back games. On Monday night, they threw away a two-goal lead against Liverpool.

Southampton are one of the Premier League’s most improved teams this season. They have moved away from the relegation zone and are no comfortable in midtable. The Saints were 2-0 winners at the weekend against Aston Villa. The win ended a two-match losing streak.

West Ham have won four straight games against Southampton including earlier this season 1-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium. If the Hammers are going to rescue their season, it could start on Saturday. West Ham could pull off a draw with Southampton as both teams score. The Hammers have won just three times at home this season. Southampton have picked up six wins on their travels. The Saints should surprise the Hammers and collect another win or draw away from home.

Winner: Southampton/Draw
