Here’s my take of the NBA Playoffs.
Western Conference:
(1)OKC vs (8) HOU
OKC is definitely the better team here. Take OKC to win the series and play ABC progressions on OKC to cover the standard spread.
(2)SAS vs (7)LAL
SAS and LAL matches up well, but without Kobe or Nash, I think the experience and superior abilities of SAS comes thru. Interesting stat, since the NBA extended the playoffs to 8 teams per conference, the LAL has made the playoffs as the 7th or 8th seed only 4 times. All 4 time they did not make it past the first round. Take SAS to win the series and play ABC progressions on SAS to cover the standard spread.
(3)DEN vs (6)GSW
DEN with the huge advantage starting at home. I expect DEN to take the first two games and at least one at GS. Take DEN to win the series and play ABC progressions on DEN to cover the standard spread.
(4)LAC vs (5)MEM
LAC defeated MEM 3-1 in the regular season. However MEM has more post season experience than LAC and I think that’s where the difference will lie. But as a LAC fan, I can’t really root against them. I’ll be taking LAC on ABC progressions to cover the standard spread only.
Eastern Conference:
(1)MIA vs (8)MIL
MIA could not have drawn a worse first round opponent than MIL. MIL has historically given MIA the most trouble of any Eastern conference team. However the defending champs have been resting their stars so I would expect them to be ready and refreshed out the gates. Take MIA to win the series and play ABC progressions on MIA to cover the standard spread.
(2)NYK vs (7)BOS
NYK started the year hot, cooled off, and then finished hot once again. I’ll be looking for them to carry that momentum into the post season. Take NYK to win the series and play ABC progressions on NYK to cover the standard spread.
(3)IND vs (6)ATL
IND will be without Granger in the postseason, but that won’t make a difference as Granger was pretty much out the entire season anyways. Take IND to win the series and play ABC progressions on IND to cover the standard spread.
(4)BKN vs (5)CHI
I like CHI here to be the dark horse of the Eastern conference. Even without Rose, the team secured the 5th seed and many of the supporting players really stepped up and took over the team as far as leadership was needed. Take CHI to win the series and play ABC progressions on CHI to cover the standard spread.
