NHL Picks November 28: Edmonton versus Vegas Headline Action

The NHL season is nearly the quarter mark and position in the conference is already at the forefront. There’s a full slate of games for Sunday, November 28 with the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights headlining the action.

Edmonton Oilers versus Vegas Golden Knights

The Oilers enter play with the second-best record in the Pacific Division and the Golden Knights are 4th. Vegas has a +23 to +5 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average” versus “average down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The teams have been trending on opposite sides of the over/under line and the Score Predictor has Vegas prevailing by a 3-2 score with 71 percent confidence. Vegas is a 1.930 to 2.012 favorite. Note that both teams have been performing consistently with respect to their favorite/underdog status. Go with Vegas to win in a tight game.

Seattle Kraken versus Florida Panthers

Seattle enters last in the Pacific Division and the Panthers are on top in the Atlantic Division. Florida has a +29 to +1 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “burning hot” versus “dead up” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Panthers are a huge favorite with odds of 1.588 to 2.595. The Totals Predictor shows both teams trending in games “over” the line, and the Score Predictor has the Panthers winning by a 4-1 margin with 53 percent confidence. Note that the Panthers are +8 on the Team Volatility Oscillator, indicating they are consistently performing according to their favorite/underdog status. Bet “over” and look for an easy Panthers’ win.

Montreal Canadiens versus Pittsburgh Penguins

Pittsburgh is 5th in the Metropolitan Division and the Canadiens are 2nd from the bottom in the Atlantic Division. Pittsburgh has a +16 to +2 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “burning hot” versus “ice cold up” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Penguins are huge favorites at 1.550 to 2.704 and the Score Predictor has them doubling up the Canadiens, 4-2 with 65 percent confidence. Avoid the over/under bet since the teams have been trending on opposite sides of the line. Look for Pittsburgh to come away with at least a two-goal win.

Dallas Stars versus Arizona Coyotes

This Central Division battle features two teams near the bottom but both have been playing well lately. The Stars and Coyotes are both “burning hot” after two consecutive wins each and the Stars have a +7 to +2 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator. Dallas is a huge road favorite of 1.55 to 2.70, but the Coyotes are given a 3-2 win on the Score Predictor with 70 percent confidence. All indications from the Totals Predictor are that this game will go “under” the line. The Coyotes are +10 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. This is a great time to bet on a road team. Go with “under” and the Stars for the win.

Winnipeg Jets versus Calgary Flames

Winnipeg enters 3rd in the Central Division, while Calgary is 1st in the Pacific Division. The Flames are +29 on the Power Ranking Indicator and “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator, while the Jets are +21 and “average down”, respectively. Calgary is a solid favorite with odds of 1.825 to 2.136, and the Score Predictor has the Flames in a 4-2 win with 65 percent confidence. Note that the Flames have been relatively unstable at -1 and the Jets have been stable at +6 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Avoid the over/under bet, but pick the Flames to win by a few goals.
