NHL Picks: LA Kings at St. Louis Blues

NHL Picks: LA Kings at St. Louis Blues Screen Shot 2016-02-18 at 4.06.45 PM

I still hate the LA Kings. I still have all the jabs I used when betting against them earlier this week. I still think they’re a bunch of terrible fans and a terrible organization. I have very much enjoyed their struggles on this grueling road trip. I will try to suck out a little more money from this road trip as the LA Kings offense continues to struggle and they take on one of the best defenses in hockey, with one of the hottest goalies right now, when they visit the St. Louis Blues.

I like the Blues, but they have been a tough team to trust in big games. They are one of the best defensive teams in the league and have consistently had strong goaltending in recent years, but they do not score enough to be a reliable pick every night. That said, though they have not been scoring in bunches lately, they simply find ways to win.

Here, again, all the factors are in their favor despite their limited offensive outputs of late and the strong defense and goaltending of the LA Kings. The LA Kings should be tired, and this road trip has taken a lot out of them. They are losing to teams they should be more competitive against. The Blues are home, rested, and winning games. After victories in four of their last five, I like them to pick apart a vulnerable Kings team.

Z-Cde agrees, giving a 60% chance of victory to the Blues and four stars of value in a nice line here. While there is some amount of conflict in the algorithm, I will move forward with a play here.

Blues 2 – Kings 1
