NHL Picks: Colorado Avalanche at New York Islanders AND Anaheim Ducks at Nashville Predators
Two picks for you guys today. Hopefully everyone else is having as good a week as we are.
First, the Ducks and Preds. This is a tricky game, but I think it’s the most lucrative on the board for Thursday. The Anaheim Ducks have been one of the best teams in the NHL this year, surprising many. Unfortunately, however, they’re on a bit of a downswing and this game is dangerous as a result.
The Preds have had excellent goaltending this month and it has led to some upsets, but I don’t think they have enough to beat the Ducks. Anaheim’s depth and talent across their top six should be enough to score. They’re on the road and they’re against a good team, but this is a dangerous game.
The computer agrees on the value and the hesitation. While it’s an aggressive play, I like the Ducks.
Ducks 4 – PReds 1
Second, I think the Islanders have been one of the weaker teams in hockey. They streaked their way to a very nice winning streak, but they’re still in the bottom of the conference.
The computer sees value on the Avs and I agree. I think colorado, despite their struggles, have been the better team this year.
The Avs are slumping, but i like their chances here.
