NHL Picks and Predictions: St. Louis Blues Vs Colorado Avalanche

NHL Featured hockey Game – St. Louis Blues at Colorado Avalanche

Another win for the Facebook feature, but I’m tired of all the conflicting signals. This time, I’m going with a pick that Z-Code and I agree on.

Jaroslav Halak is finally back (we hope, last time he was back he got hurt again), which gives the Blues the stability in net they’ve built their team on. The offense has woken up during this little spell of horrible play, and if they can continue that stretch of offense now that they have a goalie in net again, they should be good to go.

The Avalanche are not a good team. They’re mediocre across the board and their best player is still injured in Gabe Landeskog. I don’t think the Avs have the talent to match the Blues even on the road.

I think the line is nice, the matchup looks good, and it’s a risky pick but I’m on board with higher than average confidence. Z-Code supports the pick with 3.5 stars of confidence and a 60% moneyline wager.

Still, there’s reason, as always, to hesitate. This is not a high confidence super strong play. The computer predicts a very high probability of a close game that could be decided by one goal. Because of the expectation of a close game or an upset, Z-Code recommends the +1.5 line.

To me, there’s no value there. I’ll go moneyline on the Blues.

St. Louis Blues 3 – Colorado Avalanche 2.
