NHL Picks: Anaheim Ducks at Arizona Coyotes
The Arizona Coyotes are dead. They are just one point ahead of the Edmonton Oilers (the other leg of our parlay tonight), and have lost a baffling nine consecutive games. This isn’t a tough road trip, this isn’t a bad stretch in the schedule – this is a terrible hockey team.
As someone with something of a personal vendetta against this team, I couldn’t be happier as they tiptoe ever closer to a double-digit losing streak. I try to keep emotions out of my handicapping, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t pleased to see 2:1 odds that this team continues to collapse for the tenth consecutive game.
The Anaheim Ducks are a solid team. They’ve been getting excellent goaltending during this recent stretch of great hockey. They have offensive weapons that Coyotes management can only dream of, and when the defense clicks this team is one of the best in the NHL.
I see limited value in the money line here because the Ducks are on the road, but I will be parlaying this one and making a small wager on the money line. It’s sharp, but the Ducks are the hotter team with a huge advantage in momentum. Road favorites like this make me nervous, but I still like this game.
The computer gives five stars of value despite how sharp the line is, and I concur. I think Anaheim takes this one comfortably.
