NFL Week 9, Giants, Panthers, and Packers: Three Games To Bet This Sunday
Giants vs. Eagles
The Giants and Eagles are currently tied for second in their division with 4 wins and 3 losses each. Divisional matchups are typically games that can go either way no matter how lopsided the scales may seem to be. However, the Eagles, despite a better-than-expected performance this season, have struggled in divisional games. They’ve lost to both the Cowboys ad the Redkskins. The Giants are on a two game streak and are coming off a bye week full of rest. The Eagles have won 1 of their last 4 and have been generally struggling. They’re a defensive team with an offense currently ranked in the bottom 4 of the NFL. The Giants are in the middle of the pack in both respects, but have shown glimpses of brilliance. In a game where the stakes are this high, Eli Manning and OBJ will step to the plate and have talent well beyond what their rankings represent. Furthermore, the Giants have won 80% of their last 5 games coming in as a favorite. Expect a close game throughout, but ultimately the Giants winning by around a touchdown.
Panthers at Rams
Both these teams are struggling, the Panthers moreso than anyone could have predicted, but the Rams are playing at about the level expected from them. The point is, the Panthers are better than what we’ve seen from them and the Rams are arguably worse. The Panthers came out of their bye week with a huge win against Arizona. Expect them to continue building momentum here against a far weaker Rams opponent. At the current line of -3, the Panthers are a steal in value.
Packers vs. Colts
The Packers are struggling this season but, despite having only one more win, they don’t feel like they’re struggling near as much as the Colts. Indianapolis has virtually no defense as they are currently in the league’s bottom 5 in passing yards, points, and total yards allowed. The Packers are a team that has been struggling offensively but are a solid defense. If there’s a game that can help Green Bay snap back to reality and jump their offense it’s this one. If not, they have the defense to stand up to Indianapolis. This should be an easy win for a team fighting for its division. Green Bay -7.
