NFL Week 8: Three Games to Bet
Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons
The Packers are heading to Atlanta this Sunday and will hope to capitalize on the weakness the Falcons have shown over the last two weeks. The Falcons have lost their last two in close games that they arguably should have won. They will be looking to gain momentum that they had been rolling on since week 2 in this home showdown. The Packers are not what we expected them to be this year but they’re also not terrible. The Falcons are 83% against the spread in their last 6 games. They’re a top tier offense, arguably the best in the league, and they’ve managed to pull off wins against top tier defenses. Where they’ve struggled is against other potent offenses. Green Bay, however, is ranked 21 on offense and 7 on defense. In other words, on paper, they look a lot like the teams Atlanta has steamrolled this season. This game will be pivotal in Atlanta’s momentum and I think they need and want this win more. I also think they are the better team.

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers
The Cardinals are in the middle of a rebound, despite a weird and boring tie last week to Seattle, meanwhile the Panthers are in the midst of an epic crash and burn. I would say that this game is important and necessary for Carolina if they want any hopes at coming back and taking this division. However, the Panthers are just not a good team and despite how much they want this win or need it, I don’t think they’re capable of pulling it off. Vegas has consistently overvalued Carolina as they are only 16% ATS this season and I think them coming in as a favorite is just another example. The Cardinals are 50% ATS and have rallied in the last three weeks after a slow start and a tough injury. The Panthers can’t find a way to score, especially against solid defenses, and their defense just isn’t close to what it was last year. The Cardinals are a top tier defense and a potent offense. They have the momentum and the talent. This game is a great opportunity for an underdog moneyline play.
