NFL Playoffs Picks Update: Denver Broncos vs Carolina Panthers Super Bowl 50
We were so close to a perfect NFL playoffs bracket. The last game of the NFL playoffs did not go our way as the Carolina Panthers clinched their spot in the Super Bowl by blowing out my Arizona Cardinals, and so dies my love affair for Larry Fitzgerald and Carson Palmer. Fortunately, my favoritism of Peyton Manning, love of DeMarcus Ware, and really my affinity for the Denver Broncos defense overall worked out for us as the Broncos had one of the most memorable 4th quarter defensive stands I have ever seen – against Tom Brady and the Patriots no less! What an exciting NFL playoffs, and we finish with only one loss.
Perhaps even more fortunately for me is that Las Vegas took such hard losses throughout the playoffs that they disabled teasers and buying the hook on the +3 lines last week. As a result, all we had in Vegas for my little visit last weekend was Broncos ML, Broncos +3, Cardinals ML, Cardinals +3 and we actually won 25 bucks. I’m disappointed my teaser lost and I’m disappointed we did not have a perfect bracket, but what an amazingly profitable NFL playoffs this has been.
For our Super Bowl prediction, I want to take a little bit of time to allow the public money to pour in and track. As a result, I will be waiting to post my pick. Still, I wanted to take a minute to gloat a little bit about the success we had during the NFL playoffs this year. We absolutely crushed it this year.
I love the Denver Broncos defense, but I have my doubts about the Peyton Manning ball movement that nearly cost the Broncos a win against New England. The Carolina Panthers have been the best team in football this year, anchored in a strong defense and led by the top quarterback in the league this season. It’s hard to pick against them, but I’d love to see Peyton Manning go out on top. Right now, I don’t have a Super Bowl 50 prediction, but stay tuned!
This year, Super Bowl 50 conflicts with Mardi Gras. Suffice to say that whatever pick we make, I will be enjoying the game down here in New Orleans.
