NFL Picks Week Seven: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals Thursday Night Football

I don’t usually challenge the computer, but I think I’m going to here. I’ll pull back my wager (that’s the beauty of this multifaceted system), but I’m still going to place a small one against Z-Code. Challenge accepted!

The Seattle Seahawks are a bad road team. They’ve got one of the greatest home field edges in football, but they struggle when they have to travel. Adding to this problem for Seattle is that Thursday Night Football always favors the home team. The short week to prepare comes with less time to recover from Sunday’s fatigue and the travel has more of an impact. If Seattle struggles traveling on full weeks, I think they’ll struggle on a short week even more.

As such, I question their ability to control the game here.

The Arizona Cardinals are not a bad team. They have a reworked offense, a decent defense, and they should be competitive here. Against the recommendations of the NFL algorithm, I’m going with +7 for the Cards.

Z-Code is all over the Seahawks. They give a 71% chance of ML victory and a 58% chance of covering 5.5 points, with four stars of value. All parameters align, I just disagree.

My advice is to tease this sucker if you’re on the Seahawks, because I do think this will be a tight game. I see the value Z-Code sees, I just don’t like the Hawks on the road. Give me the Cards with the full touchdown.

Cardinals 20 – Seahawks 23
