NFL Picks Week One: San Francisco 49ers at Dallas Cowboys
I think the Dallas Cowboys are going to be terrible this year. They lost their best defensive player and will struggle to pressure the quarterback after cutting Demarcus Ware. The secondary is passable, but that was because they got to the passer. Now, they’ll be relying on their corners who I expect to be exposed. Ware will be missed in a big way.
The Niners defense isn’t 100%, but they’re still good. While I respect Tony Romo, I don’t think the Cowboys have enough. They have a bad (stupid) coach, a weak line, a limited receiving group, and a running back who rarely stays healthy. While the offense should be serviceable, the Niners defense should shut them down enough to win on the road.
For me it comes down to whether the Cowboys can stop the 49ers.
Ultimately, I think Dallas is going to be one of the worst teams in the NFC this year, so I don’t see how they pull this one out. I’m buying the hook, and following the ML support the Niners have with Z-Code.
