NFL Picks November 14: Chiefs and Raiders Battle in AFC West

The NFL schedule has surpassed the midway point and battles begin for playoff positioning. The are several great matchups in-store with the AFC battle featuring the Raiders and Chiefs headlining the action.

Kansas City Chiefs versus Las Vegas Raiders

The Chiefs enter the contest with a 5-4 record and the Raiders are 5-3. Las Vegas has a +26 to +17 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator and the Chiefs are “burning hot” versus “average down” on the Team Strength Oscillator.  Kansas City is a 2.5-point road favorite with odds of 1.69 to 2.136 with an over/under of 51.5. The Totals Predictor shows both teams trending in games “over” the line and the Score Predictor has the Chiefs by a 32-18 score with 67 percent confidence. Notice that the Raiders have been very inconsistent with respect to their favorite/underdog status at -3 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Go with the Chiefs to come away with a road win, covering and bet “over”.

New Orleans Saints versus Tennessee Titans

The Titans continue to roll, coming in at 7-2 at host and 5-3 Saints. Tennessee is “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and +28 on the Power Ranking Indicator. New Orleans comes in at “average” and +27, respectively. The Titans are a 2.5-point favorite with odds of 1.87 to 2.18 and an over/under or 47.5. The Score Predictor has the Titans by a 31-16 score but with only 34 percent confidence. The Totals Predictor indicates the teams have been trending in games on opposite sides of the line. Note that both teams have been very unstable according to the Team Volatility Oscillator, so take their favorite/underdog status lightly. I like the Titans to continue their hot play, win and cover but avoid the over/under.

Minnesota Vikings versus Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers enter play with a 5-3 record and host the 3-5 Vikings. Los Angeles is a 2.5-point favorite with odds of 1.64 to 2.23 and an over/under of 52.5  The Chargers have a +18 to +11 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator, while the Vikings are “average down” versus “average up” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Totals Predictor shows the teams on opposite sides of the line, so avoid the over/under bet. The Score Predictor has the Chargers winning by a 40-27 score with 76 percent confidence. I like the Chargers to win and cover, but would avoid the over/under bet.

Cleveland Browns versus New England Patriots

Both teams enter play with a 5-4 record. The Patriots have a +20 to +15 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator and “burning hot” versus “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator. New England is a 1.5-point favorite with odds of 1.8 to 2 with an over/under of 45.5. The Score Predictor has the Patriots by a 29-20 score with 76 percent confidence. The Totals Predictor shows the teams are trending in games on opposite sides of the line. Note that both teams are consistently performing according to their favorite/underdog status. I like the Patriots to win and cover, betting “over”.

Los Angeles Rams versus San Francisco 49ers

In this NFC West battle, the 7-2 Rams take on the 3-5 49ers. The Rams have a +29 to +12 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average” versus “dead” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Los Angeles is a 3.5-point road favorite with odds of 1.48 to 2.612 and an over/under of 48.5. The Score Predictor has the Rams in a blowout, 40-18 with a confidence of 52 percent. The Totals Predictor shows the teams are both in games trending “over”. I like the Rams to win by double digits in a high scoring game, going “over” the line.
