NFL Picks: Indianapolis Colts at Carolina Panthers, Monday Night Football

NFL Picks: Monday Night Football – Colts Panthers

The Carolina Panthers are unbeaten. The Carolina Panthers, nearly 2:1 favorites to miss the playoffs this year, are unbeaten. The Indianapolis Colts, saved by how terrible their division is, are in the playoff hunt despite how terribly they’ve played to start the year. It sounds, if you were making preseason predictions, that those comments would be reversed when they met on Monday Night Football.

I don’t trust Andrew Luck. I don’t think he’s healthy, I don’t think he’s effective, and I don’t think he’s going to have a very strong game against the Carolina Panthers on the road and in the rain.

I don’t really trust the Panthers either, though. That said, with the rain coming down, with a sloppy field and a slick ball, I think the team that runs the ball and is anchored in defense will come out on top.

That said, the line movement in this one makes me really nervous. Despite field conditions and the better team playing at home, the spread has fallen all the way down to -5. In a National television game it is always best to fade public money when Vegas is trapping like this.

I’m off this one. For fun, the computer says take the points or the ML, with 72% confidence on a 2:1 payout representing a solid chance of victory.
