NFL Picks and Predictions: Sunday Night Football – Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles
I wanted to wait for the stakes to be laid, and thanks to a miraculous 4th and 12 touchdown from Tony Romo, this game means nothing to the Philadelphia Eagles. So, in effect, you have a must-win game for the Bears and a meaningless game for the Eagles. The Bears also getting three points. This seems too good to be true.
The Chicago Bears have their quarterback back and healthy, and two of the best wide receivers in football make Jay Cutler’s job pretty easy. I haven’t been impressed by the Eagles defense. I think Chicago will control this game through the air.
The Eagles have an edge running the ball, but I’m not so sure McCoy will even play. His coach says he will, but why risk your best players with nothing at stake? The Eagles would have a big edge on the ground, but it may never even be relevant today.
Z-Code, without the stakes in consideration, finds some value on the Chicago Bears. There is minimal underdog money line value here, with a 51% chance to win outright. Getting 3.5, there is some conflict, but a strong 60% signal. I think the Bears cover, and probably win outright. Given that the Eagles might choose to sit this one out in the rain, I think Chicago has a huge edge.
