NFL Featured Game – Monday Night Football: Houston Texans at New England Patriots

The Texans offense is scary. Andre Johnson is one of the best receivers in football, Matt Schaub is a capable quarterback, and Arian Foster is the best running back in football. The Texans are 11-1, but that loss was on national television in blowout fashion to the Green Bay Packers, and I can’t stop going back to it in my mind.
The Pats offense mirrors the Packers offense in a number of ways. They’re capable of a relentless passing attack, led by an elite quarterback and good line. The difference for me is that the Pats also have one of the best rushing attacks in football. You don’t think of New England as a stop rushing team, but their balanced attack has made this offense nearly unstoppable. The Texans have the talent to slow them down, but I don’t think they can keep control of this game.
Z-Code agrees, though they have the same hesitations I do. Ultimately, Z-Code says stay away. So do I, as two burning hot teams come together on national television. All NFL action being on one game gives Vegas an advantage. Still, 2.5 stars of confidence aligns with 55% confidence to cover the spread and 70% ML odds from the computer. With all signals working together, I’m going to put a small wager on the Pats.
