The wild card round of the NFL playoffs is in the books and eight teams remain for a chance to win the Super Bowl. We’ll take a look at the two games for January 23 featuring the Rams versus Buccaneers and the Bills versus the Chiefs.
Los Angeles Rams versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Los Angeles Rams held on the Dallas Cowboys in the final seconds to advance, while the Buccaneers took down the Eagles by the score of 31-15. Both teams enter the contest “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and the Buccaneers have a +31 to +26 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator. The defending Super Bowl champions are 2.5-point home favorites over the Rams with odds of a 1.67 to 2.80 with an over/under of 48.5. Both teams have been involved in games over the line in three of their last six games. The Score Predictor has the Buccaneers by a 30-20 score with a confidence of 72 percent. Note that the Buccaneers have been more consistently performing according to their favorite/underdog status, at +10 to +4 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. It’s difficult to bet against Tom Brady at home in the playoffs, so I won’t. Go with the Buccaneers to win and cover in a game “under” the line.
Buffalo Bills versus Kansas City Chiefs
Both teams advanced to the AFC Divisional round with blowout wins. The Bills dismantled the Patriots, 47-17. The Chiefs cruised to a 42-21 win over the Steelers. Both teams enter the contest “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and the Chiefs have a +27 to +25 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator. Kansas City enters as a 2.5-point favorite with odds of 1.75 to 2.05 with an over/under of 53.5. The Score Predictor has the Chiefs by a 28-20 score, just under the line, with a confidence of 84 percent. Expect a high score game since the Bills have been involved in games “over” the line in four of their last six and the Chiefs in all six. The Team Volatility Oscillator shows both teams are moderately consistent according to their favorite/underdog status. I like the Chiefs in a shootout by a field goal with both teams scoring over 30 points.
