The NCAA Football season got off to a great start a week ago and the action continues this weekend with some big matchups. The biggest will be the Alabama Crimson Tide playing the Miami Hurricane.

Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Wisconsin Badgers
The football season begins for both Penn State and Wisconsin with this massive Big 10 match-up. Penn State is ranked No. 19 going into week 1, while Wisconsin is No. 12. The game will be played on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium with kickoff at 12 pm central time.
According to Bet365, Penn State is +5.5 (-110) with Wisconsin at -5.5 (-110). The over/under for the game is 50.0.
It is worth noting Penn State has a new offensive coordinator, Mike Yurcich. Add in that quarterback Sean Clifford was incredibly inconsistent last season and Penn State’s offense could struggle. Our Zcode System prediction is to back Wisconsin for the win.
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Miami Hurricanes
Alabama and Miami will meet in Atlanta on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Arena, the home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. Alabama is the No. 1 ranked team in the nations going into the weekend’s first game. Miami Hurricanes are ranked No. 14.
The Hurricanes should be competitive but are ultimately likely to lose the game. Although a win for Miami would send shockwaves through the new NCAA Football season.
The Alabama Crimson Tide and Miami Hurricanes have not played since the National Championship game on January 1, 1993. In 17 all-time meetings, Alabama has won 14 times while Miami has claimed just three victories.
Miami is an experienced team with 19 returning starters. The Hurricanes finished 2020 with an 8-3 record (7-2 in the ACC). Miami defeated just one ranked team in 2020 while losing to ranked opponents Clemson, North Carolina, and Oklahoma State.
According to Bet365, Alabama is -19.5 (-110) while Miami Hurricanes are +19.5 (110). The over/under is set at 61.0. Consider taking the over in this one.

Notre Dame vs. Florida State
Two of NCAA Football’s biggest names will meet in week 1 as No. 9 Notre Dame play unranked Florida State. There was a time that this game would have been the biggest of the weekend as both teams had some of the nation’s strongest players. Today, it is a big game in name only, but it is still worth a punt.
Note that Notre Dame and Florida State will be played on Sunday night rather than Saturday. These teams met in 2020 with Notre Dame winning easily 42-26. The Fighting Irish are favorites to win once more.
According to Bet365, Notre Dame is -7.5 (-110) while Florida State is +7.5 (-110). The over/under is at 55.0.
Based on last season’s game, betting the over looks wise. Zcode System’s score prediction is for a high-scoring game once more this season. Notre Dame should pull out a win for the second straight game against Florida State. Before laying down your wager, note that Florida State has won its last two games against Notre Dame when playing at home. Sunday’s game will be in Tallahassee. The Seminoles won those games in 2014 and 2012.
