NBA Playoffs Predictions: Cavs, Warriors, Spurs Coast in 2nd Round

NBA Playoffs Bracket Predictions: Spurs, Warriors, Cavs Round Two

Screen Shot 2016-04-16 at 2.07.46 AMInjuries sent the Clippers home and the Atlanta Hawks held off the Celtics, but we hit the other six matchups in the first round and did really well. We saw the Cleveland Cavaliers getting hot, the San Antonio Spurs being dominant, and the Golden State Warriors coasting. We’re going to stick with those predictions here.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Atlanta Hawks: The Atlanta Hawks are a decent team, but nobody in the East can touch LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers when they’re healthy. They aren’t the deepest team, but the Cavs have top-end talent. The Hawks will not be able to keep pace.

Toronto Raptors vs Miami Heat: The Miami Heat snuck past the first round behind Dwayne Wade heroics. The Toronto Raptors struggling with the Indiana Pacers, but eventually got through as well. Here, two mediocre teams do battle. I think the Raptors have the better team, I’ll stick with them here, but not as confidently as I originally predicted.

Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trailblazers: I love that Lehigh kid is doing big things in the NBA, but the Blazers don’t have enough depth to run with the Warriors. Golden State is the best basketball team in history following a nine-loss regular season. Even with a hobbled Steph Curry, I think the Blazers are in big trouble.

San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder: The Thunder are one of those teams that can beat anyone, but their two superstars have their work cut out for them against the six or seven star players on the Spurs. I think you’ll see San Antonio dominate this series. The Spurs are simply the better team.
