NBA Picks: San Antonio Spurs at LA Clippers
I think it’s often very difficult to bet against San Antonio. They’re anchored in strong defense, veteran leadership, a great point guard / center combo, and have one of the best coaches in the game. That said, I don’t think they can keep up with the Clippers.
The Clippers are healthy, so all they’ve done this season without Chris Paul was essentially the floor for where this team can go. They have two dominant big men, depth, and home court advantage here.
What decides this game for me is that the Spurs have too many injuries to compete with the full roster of the Clippers right now. Tony Parker is banged up, and the supporting cast is out. Manu Ginobli is also out. This is not the same Spurs team we expect to see each night.
The computer is a little bit conflicted, but does produce a signal here. The money line has strong value according to the computer algorithm, while the spread is directly in conflict. I think the Clippers handle business, but the computer doesn’t trust them to cover.
My play today is to buy this down to 3 points or take the money line. I’m not sure you’ll need it, but it’s always good to have both signals from the computer on your side.
