NBA Picks: Philadelphia 76ers at New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans aren’t necessarily a playoff threat right now in a loaded Western Conference, but they are definitely a strong team. They have a 14-5 record at home and are above .500 this season. Moreover, they might have the best forward in basketball in Anthony Davis. I don’t think the 76ers will be able to stop them here.
The Philadelphia 76ers are an abomination unto the game of basketball. The rebuilding effort hasn’t gone well for Philly and they’ve truly fallen off in the last couple years. While I think Anthony Davis will eventually walk away from New Orleans, this is a team with a lot of pieces. Essentially you have a battle of an up and coming roster against a walking disaster.
This spread is a little bit out of reach. I expect a blowout but 13.5 is a lot. I like this one in some parlays tonight, and I also like buying some points down to make this more reasonable. I’m also going to have a bet in on the full spread.
I just don’t see how the 76ers can keep up with the balance and power of the Pelicans in New Orleans, where this team is incredibly good.
