I look for them to get back on track and win this in a game “over” the line.
Washington Wizards versus Detroit Pistons
Both teams are coming in having lost their last six games and “dead” on the Team Strength Oscillator. In addition, both teams are 0 on the Power Ranks Indicator and are trending in games “under” the line. They also have identical 2-12 records on the season so something has to give in this one. Detroit has a better point differential and the score prediction is for the Pistons by a 117-114 score with 73 percent confidence. Washington won all three games between the teams last season. Both teams are bad, but Detroit is a little less inept, particularly being at home. Go with the Pistons but pass on the “over/under” bet.
Portland Trail Blazers versus Indiana Pacers
Portland sits at 4-11 on the season and “dead up” and Indiana is a solid 8-6 and “average down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The score prediction is for the paces by 15 points in a 229-point total between the teams. Notice that the teams are trending in games on opposite sides of the line. Indiana is +18 to +3 on the Power Ranks Indicator and won both games between the teams last season. Portland has been the more consistent team with regard to their favorite/underdog status. They are 2-6 on the road with a season point differential of -8.6. Barring a major upset, the Pacers should have this one in the bag. Go with Indiana in a game “over” the line.
New Orleans Pelicans versus Utah Jazz
Here’s a case of two teams heading in opposite directions. Utah is “ice cold down” after losing 4 straight and New Orleans is “burning hot” after winning four of their last five. The teams have been involved in games “under” the line in each of their last two, but “over” the line in the the majority of their last six. The score prediction is for Utah by a 119-114 margin with 64 percent confidence. Utah won all three games between the teams last season, but I will ride the hot hand in this one. Let’s go with the Pelicans in a game “under” the line.
Denver Nuggets versus Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers have won their last three after dropping their previous six. They come in “burning hot” and Denver is “ice cold down” after their current 2-4 stretch. Denver still has a +25 to +12 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator and the score prediction is for Denver by nine points but with only 50 percent confidence and Denver has won the last two games by a total of 16 points. Both teams have been relatively stable, coming in at +6 and +5 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. I like the Nuggets to get back on track in a tight game “over” the line, perhaps needing overtime to secure the win.
