NBA Picks March 14: 76ers Look to Stay on Top in East Versus Spurs

The NBA is tipping off the second half of the season and the playoff push begins. There are numerous key matchups for March 14 with the 76ers and Spurs headlining the action.

San Antonio Spurs versus Philadelphia 76ers

The Spurs enter as the 7th seed in the Western Conference and the 76ers are on top in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia has a +25 to +17 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “burning hot” versus “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Both teams have been involved in games under the line lately, so that appears to be a solid bet in this game. The 76ers have been excellent at home and are far more stable at +12 to +1 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Look for the 76ers to take care of things at home and win this game.

Utah Jazz versus Golden State Warriors

The Jazz head to Golden State with the top record in the NBA, while the Warriors are 10th in the Western Conference. Both teams aren’t playing their best ball lately, coming in at “average down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Jazz have a +27 to +16 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and +12 to +11 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. With the teams trending on opposite sides of the over/under line, it’s best to avoid that bet. The Jazz won the last meeting between the teams by the score of 127-108. I don’t think the margin will be that large this time, but the Jazz will leave with a road win.

Cleveland Cavaliers versus Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks come in 11th in the Eastern Conference, just a game out of the last playoff spot, and the Cavaliers have the third-worst record in the conference. The Hawks are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator versus “average” for the Cavaliers.  On the Power Ranking Indicator, Cleveland has a +12 to +9 edge and are more stable at +9 to +7 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. The teams have been on opposite sides of the over/under line lately, so it’s best to avoid that bet. Despite a worse record, the Cavaliers have defeated the Hawks in both meetings this season. That will end here as the Hawks will take care of things on their home court.

Toronto Raptors versus Chicago Bulls

The Raptors are Bulls are among the teams battling for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors have a +11 to +7 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator. Chicago has been playing better lately at “average up” versus “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Both teams have shown moderate stability in terms of performing according to their favorite/underdog status. Avoid the over/under bet since the teams are trending on opposite sides of the line. Look for the Bulls to come away with a home win by a narrow margin.

Los Angeles Clippers versus New Orleans Pelicans

The Clippers are currently the 4th seed in the Western Conference and the Pelicans are on the outside looking in. Both teams are struggling lately, coming in “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Clippers have a +18 to +6 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and +10 to +2 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Expect a high-scoring game and betting “over” is a wise decision. The Clippers won the first meeting between the teams this season by the score of 111-106. Expect much of the same in the rematch.
