NFL Picks – Monday Night Football: Baltimore Ravens at Arizona Cardinals
The Baltimore Ravens are off to a rough start. Injuries and ineptitude have seriously limited the Baltimore Ravens this season. The defense is in shambles, and the secondary has really suffered. The offense is inconsistent. I think they’re in some very real trouble.
Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals got off to an impressive start this year but have faltered recently. I think it’s difficult to lay down 10 points in a Monday Night Football game, but I like the opening line in a teaser to -1 and the ML at -335. I think they’re stumbling a little bit lately and without that momentum from the beginning of the year they may not be blowing anyone out on National TV.
The computer agrees, giving just a 19% chance that the Cardinals cover the spread. That said, they are considerable favorites to win the game straight up. Z-Code says there is a 72% chance of a Cardinals victory at home tonight.
I don’t trust the Ravens to keep it close. I can easily see the Cardinals running away with this one at home, especially if Joe Flacco stumbles when Carson Palmer eats this Ravens secondary alive. As such, the spread doesn’t look very enticing to me. I can see the Ravens keeping it close, but I can also see this getting out of hand and I don’t like to trust bad teams with my money.
I’m on the Cardinals ML, and leaving the 10 points alone while hoping my -1 teaser from earlier in the week holds up.
